MMXTC for Unbossers: Week 47/2021

Hi All!

Here is your weekly dose of unbossing monday-morning-xtc for Unbossers. A list of what I’m inspired by and working on.

Enjoy!

Podcast I'm releasing  -

Unbossing in heavy regulated businesses, Nina Bufi - Nina is a biomedical engineer currently working as eHealth projects director at the French Ministry of Health. She's also the driving source behind the super successful "Open Opal", the French community for Teal Organization. No wonder she is so good in explaining what this new organization model is all about. The three main topics we discuss are:

  1. concrete examples of unbossing in heavy regulated healthcare businesses.
  2. what is a company purpose, and is the purpose owned by the leader?
  3. can every organization evolve and how do you start?

Listen on Spotify. Listen on Apple

Note: More super cool Unbossing podcasts coming like the transformation pilot at Fujitsu with Joao Domingo and Unbossing since 1983 with Jean-Francois Zorbist

What I'm re-watching -

Healthcare: humanity above bureaucracy | Jos de Blok | TEDxGeneva - I came across this gem again when I was assembling inspirational content fit for the unique context of one of our customers. This is really unbossing 1.0. Whether Unbossing just came into your life or you have been unbossing for years, this ten minute view inside Jos De Block's and Buurtzorg's head is pure gold. Advise: do not focus on the results they achieved, but rather on the questions they asked in the process of getting there.

What I'm listening -

Kevin Systrom: Instagram | Lex Fridman Podcast - This is a two-hour masterclass on leadership, entrepreneurship, technology, social networks, success, humbleness and life in general through the lens of Instagram founder Kevin Systrom. Enjoyed every second of it.

And by the way, nearly all the episodes from the Lex Fridman podcast are amazing. Absolutely love the topics he covers and his calm and detailed interview technique makes it a true blessing to listen to.

Gadget I'm loving -

UBeesize Phone Tripod, Portable and Flexible Tripod with Wireless Remote and Universal Clip, Cell Phone Tripod Stand for Video Recording (Black) - Anyone who's a leader in anything, an operational leader in a company or a thought leader in domain of expertise, has to use video to communicate. I found this little gadget super handy for using my iPhone to make high-quality video's fast.

Quote that inspired me

"We need leaders who recognize the harm being done to people and planet through the dominant practices that control, ignore, abuse, and oppress the human spirit. We need leaders who put service over self, stand steadfast in crises and failures, and who display unshakable faith that people can be generous, creative, and kind. Warriors for the Human Spirit are leaders, activists, and citizens who want to make a meaningful contribution in this time of increasing assaults on the human spirit and all life."

Meg Wheatley

That's it for this week, folks!
