Professor Kelton is a leading authority on Modern Monetary Theory, a new approach to economics that is taking the world by storm. She was recently named as one of the world’s 50 most influential people in 2019 by Bloomberg.

Stephanie is the current visiting Harcourt Professor at the University of Adelaide.

The aim of the conference is to discuss the elements of a Green New Deal for Australia, informed by the work of some of the world's leading progressive economists, including Professor Bill Mitchell (Newcastle) and Professor Robert Costanza (ANU).

A Green New Deal involves a range of economic reforms and directly links improving the fairness of the economic system with the need to take resolute action on climate change.

Around the world, movements for climate action and addressing inequality are growing. This conference offers a great opportunity, at exactly the right moment in history, to engage with leading contributors to the global dialogue.
