Substantial capital investment will be needed in US airports over the next decade, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of capital improvement program (CIP) planning tools. To address this, Steer Associate Ian Sample, alongside Tatiana Starostina and partners from RS&H, Ramirez and Co, and Loop Capital Markets, has co-authored a white paper titled ‘Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Planning and Management: Assessing Approaches and Considering Tools for Airport Finance Leaders.’

This report, in collaboration with the AAAE and ACT, outlines crucial strategies and a toolkit of technical approaches essential for managing the lifecycle of capital projects in airports. FRA CID Program: The National Perspective

It’s been two and a half years since the signing of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) that, among other major initiatives, led to the establishment of the Federal Railroad Administration’s (FRA) Corridor Identification and Development (CID) program. The aim of the program is to reinvigorate US passenger rail and develop ‘a world-class rail system’ that is safe, clean, and equitable.

Steer advances in updating Colombia's Port Physical and Environmental Management Plan

Steer, in collaboration with Sherman Saenz and engineering project partners, is conducting a technical study to update the Port Physical and Environmental Management Plan (POFPA) in Colombia. This project, supported by the Transport Infrastructure Planning Unit (UPIT), addresses challenges in port sector governance, efficiency and regulation. To date, Steer has made progress in port characterisation through visits to 22 port companies and coordination with multiple stakeholders in the sector. The POFPA is scheduled to be delivered by August 2024, with the objective of strengthening port management and operation in the country. Read more.
