What is your role at Hy-Tek?
A: I am a Lead Product Development Engineer. I am responsible for maintaining comprehensive knowledge of current, prospective, and historical robotic vendors, including their evaluation and selection processes. Additionally, my responsibilities include management, product development, technical support for innovative technologies, and oversight of the Innovation Lab.
How long have you been with Hy-Tek?
A: I started as a Co-op on March 1, 2021, and have since worked my way up to my current role as Lead Product Development Engineer.
What is your favorite aspect of your role?
A: I find great satisfaction in engaging with customers during their visits to the innovation lab. It offers a valuable opportunity to showcase Hy-Tek's capabilities while attentively listening to their specific business requirements.
Tell us about a professional success story you are proud of.
A: One of my most significant achievements at Hy-Tek has been the establishment of the Innovation Lab. I have been actively involved in every phase of its development and installation. Although it remains an ongoing project, I take immense pride in its transformation from its original state as a warehouse space.
What motivates you?
A: I get great satisfaction from unraveling the intricacies of mechanisms and systems. Observing the seamless integration of components and understanding their functionality is a significant motivator for me.
What's on your bucket list?
A: One day I hope to be able to go rafting or kayaking in the Grand Canyon.
Favorite activity outside of work?
A: Whitewater kayaking and mountain biking are my two favorite activities outside of work.
What is your dream vacation?
A: Whitewater kayaking in South America. Several rivers lead into the Amazon that are considered some of the best rivers in the world and one day I hope to get to explore these for myself.
Where do see yourself 5 years from now?
A: 5 years from now I see myself as a Solutions Design Lead here at Hy-Tek continuing to help customers solve their complex warehouse automation needs.
