Industry Internship Program

An internship can be used as a stepping stone into a lifelong career. In Jagdish Sheth School of Management, where I was fortunate enough to establish and coordinate a society that focused on education and professional experiences in this growing field. The Industry Internship Program (IIP) at JAGSoM, played a vital role to get an internship in Intertrust Group as a finance intern where I got the opportunity to apply my theoretical knowledge across the projects which helped me to widen the existing knowledge of the finance modules.

Role: Finance Intern

Job description: The internship for the position of Finance intern commenced when the company Intertrust group detected that there should be a supporting person in the team.

Initially, my role started by learning about the company and the product and services it offers to their customer. Mainly, I got training for SAP software or how do we do entries over there and how we add new customers there and add services value.

As there were already some missing entries of missing values for 6 months so I had to rectify that so that they can generate their bills and get the payment from their customers.

After that, I started working on fresh projects like whenever a new customer comes for any service. I have to create a new project in SAP and then add new customers to the business and also add all the services they were getting from the business.

Then rectify it and after meeting with the finance department, the Generation of the bill was the work I was doing.

 The Objective of the Project: The overall objective of the project is to help the Finance team or we can say give support to them as there were facing problems in many projects in SAP and I had to rectify that after looking at the data they were providing regarding the client services fee they were charging from their client.

Key Learning: The internship has provided me with a chance to explore corporate work life and how everything works in it. Being acquainted with the culture has made me prepared to enter the corporate world with confidence. The project has provided me with lots of learning opportunities.

Learning real-time problems regarding the customers.

The internship has provided a way to learn and navigate the work life through real-time, hands-on experience. After this internship, I have a better and more professional way of approaching life in the work environment. The opportunity of how professionals interact with each other has given good exposure to its culture.

Any financial software is very essential for any company to be it small, medium, or large.

People should always explore different opportunities. But it was a well–established company so there everything was pre-planned and there is a manner to do that.
