HOW INTEL XEON SCALABLE PROCESSORS CAN HELP YOUR DATA-CENTER CUSTOMERS

HOW INTEL XEON SCALABLE PROCESSORS CAN HELP YOUR DATA-CENTER CUSTOMERS

Your customers’ data centers are changing. They’re adding hybrid clouds. Beefing up security. Increasing scalability. So it makes sense that the processors powering your customers’ data-center servers should be changing, too.

That’s why Intel earlier this year introduced the Intel Xeon Scalable processor family. These new CPUs are workload-optimized to support hybrid clouds, high-demand applications, hardware-based security and dynamic service delivery. In other words, precisely what today’s data centers demand.

The Intel Xeon Scalable processors deliver all this, and more, with some highly innovative new features. These include Intel Advanced Vector Extension 512 (Intel AVX-512), which improves workload-optimized performance and throughput. Another new feature, Intel QuickAssist Technology (Intel QAT), speeds data compression and cryptography.

4 new brands

The new Intel Xeon Scalable processor line is a single scalable family. It replaces the company’s previous Xeon E5/E7 designation with 4 new brands:

> Platinum: Offers the best performance, hardware-enhanced security and superior business agility. This processor packs up to 28 cores and is scalable up to 8 sockets or 224 cores in a system, and it also offers up to 12 TB of memory. SKUs start 81xx.

> Gold: Offers great performance, fast memory, more interconnect/accelerator engines, advanced reliability. There are 2 subsets: The 5000 series accommodates as many as 14 cores, scaling up to 4 sockets for up to 56 cores in a system, and it has up to 3 TB of memory. The 6000 series offers up to 88 cores (22 cores x 4 sockets) and 6 TB of memory. SKUs start 61xx and 51xx.

> Silver: Offers efficient performance with a power requirement as low as 70 Watts. This processor has up to 12 cores and scales to two sockets; it also has up to 1.5 TB of memory. SKUs start 41xx.

> Bronze: Offers entry-level performance with up to 8 cores scaling to two sockets (or 16 cores in a system), and 1 TB of memory. SKUs start 31xx.

So for your customers’ changing data centers, you now have a choice of new Intel server processors. We are happy to announce that E-ENERGY Team can help you select the best fit.
