The Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University is currently hiring for the Bloomberg American Sustainable Cities initiative, a new three-year program to support efforts in 25 U.S. cities to build low-carbon, resilient, and economically thriving communities.

Applications Being Accepted for Stripe Climate Fellows

Stripe recently announced the launch of the Stripe Climate Fellows. The goal of this program is encourage more demand-side innovation in carbon removal.

This program will support exceptional people who have ambitious but feasible proposals to grow carbon removal demand by 2030. Stripe Climate Fellows will be given grant funding to cover salary and other critical expenses for one year to work on their proposal, as well as support from the Stripe Climate team.

This program is open to individuals worldwide. Applications are due July 15 and fellows would ideally begin their work in September 2024.

Applications Being Accepted for Ryan Martel Fellowship

Ceres is currently accepting applications for the Ryan Martel Fellowship. Ceres is a nonprofit organization working with the most influential capital market leaders to solve the world’s greatest sustainability challenges. This fellowship honors and recognizes Ryan Martel, who devoted his professional life to the pursuit of effective federal climate action and passed away in 2022.

The Ryan Martel Fellowship is designed for a highly-motivated self-starter, who has some prior policy campaign experience but who is in the early stages of their policy career. Fellows have the opportunity to work closely with Ceres’ policy experts and a range of cross-sector stakeholders including investor and corporate network members, congressional lawmakers and staff, nonprofit partners, and other climate and sustainability advocates.

This is a 12-month fellowship based in Washington D.C. that begins 11/1/2024 and ends 10/31/2025. The hiring salary is $58,800 and includes a $15,000 housing stipend, a $1,200 commuting stipend, and competitive benefits.

Applications Being Accepted for SolarCorps Fellowship

GRID Alternatives - SolarCorps Fellowship

Applications are still being accepted for the next cohort of the SolarCorps Fellowship. This is a program of GRID Alternatives and provides a career pipeline for individuals into the clean energy field via an 11-month apprenticeship model. More than 300 people have served as fellows in this program!

The 2024-2025 cohort runs from September 16th, 2024, to August 15th, 2025. Fellows receive a $37,400 stipend over the 11 months and additional benefits.

Paid positions are located in California, the D.C. area, and Puerto Rico. Remote and location-flexible positions are also available.

2024-2025 Fellowship opportunities include:

  • Construction (Solar Installation, Operations & Maintenance, Project Management, Solar Design)

  • Workforce Development & Training

  • Community Outreach

  • Clean Mobility Outreach 

  • And other related positions!

Applications Being Accepted for New Maryland Climate Corps

Applications are currently being accepted for the new Maryland Climate Corps! This program is part of the Service Year Option and will offer paid service opportunities for Marylanders to get involved protecting their community from the impacts of climate change while receiving workforce training to access a green job or educational opportunity after their service.

Maryland Climate Corps members will earn at least $15/hour and $6,000 in a Maryland 529 account or as a cash stipend upon successful completion of the nine-month program. Members will also receive professional development support, job training, mentoring and other benefits.

This is a nine-month full-time program that starts in September and concludes in summer of 2025.

300 Opportunities in the American Climate Corps Available on ClimateChangeJobs.com

Green Jobs Network is excited to announce that more than 300 opportunities in the American Climate Corps are available on ClimateChangeJobs.com.

The American Climate Corps (ACC) was first announced by the Biden Administration in September 2023 and is an initiative to train 20,000 young people in high-demand skills for jobs in the clean energy economy. You can learn more about the American Climate Corps and view opportunities at ClimateCorps.gov.

Maine Clean Energy Jobs Network Launched

The Maine Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) recently announced the launch of the Maine Clean Energy Jobs Network, a free online resource that job seekers can use to find Maine-based clean energy jobs, employers, and training opportunities. This resource is at mainecleanenergyjobs.com.

In addition, Maine Governor Janet Mills announced that in 2022 the clean energy sector employed more than 15,000 people in Maine and contributed more than $2.3 billion to the state’s economy (according to the 2023 Maine Clean Energy Industry Report). The Governor has a set a goal of 30,000 clean energy workers in Maine by 2030.

Application Cycle Open for $20,000 Grants from the Youth Climate Justice Fund

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 grant cycle from the Youth Climate Justice Fund. This opportunity provides up to $20,000 for grassroots youth climate and socio-environmental movements, initiatives, and solutions.

This opportunity builds on YCJF initial grant cycle that took place in 2023. During this cycle YCJF received 1,800 applications and provided $700,000 to more than 50 organizations.
