Great Advancements Into Computer Industry Over The Years

Computer industry is not much old while considering its evolution! There has been great advancements in software and hardware industry! Those kinds of great advancements has brought the industry at new heights! Initially, Companies like Intel came up with 8086 architecture in CPU domain! Those kind of 16-bit CPU provides the basic computation power which can be used in basic general purpose applications! Those were the initial days of computer industry and many advancements needed to be done over the years! Initial CPU did not had the floating point unit or any other MMX and XMM instruction which can be used in complex computing! Initailly, windows provided the basic windows 95 OS which was perfectly suited for basic 8086 and pentium architure! Computation power was limited and computation capabilities were limited! End user was limited to playing basic games and playing basic movie content! There was not much parallaism provided in the computer industry which can be used! Over the years, There were many advancements in software and hardware industry! AMD came into existance over the period of time with basic CPU architecture which can give competition to Intel! Basic jaguar architecture of AMD was mainly suitable for simple computation! AMD always been lagging in competition with Intel in CPU domain! There was an evolution in software domain in terms of Microsoft having the Windows 95 to Windows 10! Over the years, Software evolved with many softwares like Microsoft Office to many other applications which were used by end users! Intel CPU evolved from basic 8086 architecture to latest skylake architecture! AMD CPU evolved from basic Jaguar family to latest Raven Family! There was an advancements in motherboard having many new IO's used in terms of having the basic PCI and USB! IO domain improved in terms of coming up with many new cards on motherboard in terms of PCIe and Thunderbolt! In latest advancements, Motherboard went from three chip solution to the two chip solution! Initially, Motherboard consist of basic CPU, Northbridge and Southbridge! That was mainly converted to the nothbridge having on same die as CPU and Southbridge was separate chip! Recent advancements are in terms of having the one chip solution where CPU die will have Northbridge and Southbridge! Lately, Server domain has picked up the pace with having more than 64 cores, 16 GB of RAM and many PCIe slots used as an IO! All these advancements are taking an industry forward! Servers are using the maximum IO virtulization in an industry! All these can be considered as great advancements in terms of platform which has taken the brought the revolution in computer industry!
