Future Infrastructure

Involving techno-visionaries in Urban  and Regional Planning projects may open new opportunities with a different  perspective on how connectivity can be achieved.

Having a local, regional and cross-regional dependable, on-demand, integrated and Intelligent transport system to provide the back bone support for our growing economy is a must. Thereby,  cities and regional planners should take the opportunity of for example regeneration projects to

consider a future perspective as in ‘what more can we do?
would the latest technology allow us to do it better?’

Planners should address the present with futuristic outlook ensuring sustainable and cost effective development over time with environment in focus.

Where Smart Services should be provided in Cities, Regions, rural and interurban regions to improve the quality of life, providing social inclusion and economic prosperity.

The focus should be on  addressing the main pillars of sustainability (Economical, Environmental and Social) as part of an Intelligent Mobility Strategy that uses an innovative and integrated approach towards land use, urban and transport planning, travel and traffic management solutions to achieve the following benefits:

  • Promoting social inclusion and regeneration leading to economic prosperity. This will be achieved by providing efficient transport links, multimodal travel choices and accessibility on a local, regional and international level.
  • Safer travel - to reduce traffic congestion and road fatalities.
  • Healthier travel - to reduce greenhouse gas emissions thereby improving air quality by using for example improved network management and reducing car dependency by enabling healthier travel/communication options.

iMFV Collaboration Group offers expertise to carry out local/regional needs and requirement capture – bridging the worlds of Research, Technology, Transport and Infrastructure; providing knowledge transfer and the dissemination of the latest technology into a vision of smart infrastructure.
