Ferox Strategies honors Madalene Mielke as new President and CEO of APAICS

Ferox Strategies founder Cristina Antelo partnered with Diageo on July 18 to host a Capitol Hill reception honoring Madalene Mielke, the new President and CEO of the Asian Pacific American Institute of Congressional Studies (APAICS). APAICS is a non-partisan, non-profit organization aligned with the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) dedicated to encouraging Asian Pacific Americans representation at all levels of government and politics. Ms. Mielke brings to the role more than twenty years' experience in high-stakes political campaigns, fundraising, and political training specializing in the advancement of communities of color, as well as her own success as an entrepreneur in the consulting world. "I was eager to do this event for Madalene," Antelo said. "Madalene and I have been friends for years, her reputation precedes her, and I know she's already doing great work at APAICS."

CAPAC Chairwoman Congresswoman Judy Chu (D-CA-27) praised Ms. Mielke's experience and spoke with excitement about her future at APAICS helping Asian Pacific Americans ascend to ever-higher levels of political clout and representation.

Antelo, who is Vice Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), joined CHCI President and CEO Domenika Lynch as well as Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) President and CEO Shuanise Washington in congratulating and welcoming Mielke. They observed that women now lead each of the three non-profits aligned with CAPAC, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and the Congressional Black Caucus. They also discussed how APAICS, CHCI, and CBCF can continue collaborating to ongoing efforts on Capitol Hill to diversify a still-largely homogeneous congressional staff talent pool.

Guests at the reception enjoyed networking, greeting Ms. Mielke and other attending officials, and spirits provided by Diageo. Erica Johnson, Director of Federal Affairs, represented Diageo in honoring Ms. Mielke at the reception.
