CyLon: Singapore here we come!

Well, we said 2018 was going to be a big year for CyLon, and we weren't kidding. We've been proud to lead the way in Europe as the pioneering accelerator for cyber security startups, with 45 companies graduating from our programmes since 2015. But we are thrilled to announce that from April we will be accepting applications from startups and entrepreneurs based in the Asia Pacific region to join our first Singapore programme.

In partnership with Singtel Innov8, the corporate venture capital arm of Asia’s leading communications technology group, and the National University of Singapore (NUS), our new programme will build upon the success of CyLon’s London operation and drive fresh cyber security innovation, capabilities and enterprise in Singapore and the wider region. CyLon Singapore will include the core elements of CyLon’s established London programme, including a 5-day ‘Inspire’ pre-accelerator for aspiring entrepreneurs, and a 3-month ‘Accelerate’ programme aimed at startups.

As ever, participating startups will receive a seed investment, access to CyLon’s global mentor network, and they will join the ever-expanding community of CyLon-accelerated businesses, including fast-growing companies like Tessian, RipJar, VChain, AimBrain, and Immersive Labs.

We asked the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, the Rt Hon Matthew Hancock MP, to comment on our news. He replied:

“CyLon is an innovative leader in the cyber security ecosystem, providing pioneering support to startups building cyber businesses in the UK. I visited Singapore International Cyber Week last year and have followed the development of CyLon Singapore closely. I welcome this announcement as further evidence of UK leadership in this field, and of our fantastic and ever-strengthening relationship with our partners in Singapore.” 

2018 is an incredibly exciting year for CyLon, and we are thrilled to announce this partnership, and to bring our programme to Singapore. It is our foundational belief that there is enormous untapped cyber security potential in both Europe and Asia, and our programmes are designed to find, support, and supercharge that talent. 

We can’t wait to welcome our first group of startups and entrepreneurs onto the CyLon Singapore programme at ICE71, the first dedicated cyber security startup hub in the region. Entrepreneurs working on any technology with security applications and with the ambition to build a successful business in Singapore or the wider region are encouraged to visit the CyLon website (https://cylonlab.com/singapore) or ICE71. Applications for the CyLon Singapore ‘Inspire’ and ‘Accelerate’ programmes open in April 2018.
