Creating a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at Sambodhi

Creating a workplace where every team member feels valued, respected, and included is not only vital for boosting engagement and retaining top talent, but it's also a cornerstone for improving organizational performance. This is why, at Sambodhi, we embrace the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to ensure every voice resonates and opportunities know no bias.

Before delving deeper into our DEI commitment, let's go back to the origins of our journey. Sambodhi began with a vision to improve lives through data and evidence, while simultaneously establishing an environment where every employee can thrive and reach their full potential.

This vision laid the groundwork for an array of policies and practices, beginning with the commitment to make leadership roles accessible to everyone.  We firmly believe in building an organization where individuals from diverse genders, sectors, and expertise contribute their perspectives. Our senior leadership team reflects this belief—with a gender-balanced leadership team, our employees bring a variety of perspectives to our work.

Our commitment to creating an equitable workspace extends far beyond philosophy; it is woven into the fabric of who we are, entrenched within our daily practices. In pursuit of supporting our female employees, we have implemented a range of initiatives, starting with the installation of sanitary pad vending machines in our office washrooms and implementing the Menstrual Work from Home (MWFH) policy. This basic necessity, when fulfilled, creates a sense of comfort for our employees and, hopefully, projects our commitment to preserving the dignity of women and fostering a culture of respect.

Additionally, we firmly believe no one should ever be forced to choose between their career and family. To this end, we go beyond maternity and paternity leave, offering emotional support and flexible working hours during the birth for a woman or afterwards for both men and women.

Our efforts and policies don't stop at safeguarding the rights of female employees; we're equally dedicated to creating a safe environment for everyone. At Sambodhi, we uphold a strict zero-tolerance policy against any behavior that compromises our employees' dignity or makes them feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. Through our inclusive, gender-neutral policies, we are reinforcing acts like the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) to ensure that every employee is protected in all circumstances.

With all these policies and practices in place, we hope to create a world that is closer to the ideal, for everyone to feel safe, supported, and encouraged to work with dignity and live freely.

Join us in building such an environment!
