In Conversation with Victor Chu, Director, Distribution Operations

Meet Victor Chu , Director of Distribution Operations based out of our Distribution Centre (DC) in Ontario, California.

Victor shares more about what he’s most passionate about, his journey at lululemon, and advice for anyone looking to join our DC teams. Read on below! ↓

Tell us about your career journey and how long you have worked at lululemon.

My journey to lululemon has been like a roller coaster. I have had dips, turns, successes and failures on this wild ride, but most importantly have learned so many remarkable things along the way. In the span of my 28-year professional career, I have worked in Beverage Industry, Third-Party Logistics, Cold Storage, Retail Distribution, and Automotive. I started at lululemon in May 2022 as the General Manager at our Sumner Distribution Centre, and in November 2022 I accepted the role I hold today. The past two years have been exceptional, and I look forward to creating more memories with my team.

Tell us about your current role and what you do.

My role is to support my team and provide them with all the necessary tools to be successful and thrive in their work. I am focused on building a strong foundation of culture, connection, positivity, balance, and fun. Together, we will execute a highly efficient plan to provide world-class product and service to our guests.

What do you value most about lululemon?

All the amazing people! Their willingness to lean in, build connection, allow you to be your real self, and support one another is awe-inspiring.

What were you most excited about for our Ontario, California DC opening?

To finally see the DC fully functional and all the opportunities it is going to create for our team and company.

What is something you are passionate about (at work or outside of work)?

My family. Everything I do is for them and to create a better future for them. Their support fuels my energy to reach my goals, overcome obstacles and to show up as a better leader for my team.

What advice would you give to someone applying to work at one of our Distribution Centre’s?

Joining a new company or team can be intimidating. Be open-minded, ready to learn, ready to build connections, and have fun! Be sure to ask all your questions and understand all the commitments you are signing up for. We work hard, push each other to do great things, and are always thinking of ways to improve.
