Consider GOSH Charity during this Remember A Charity Week

This September, GOSH Charity is taking part in Remember a Charity Week. You could help save the lives of future children at GOSH by including a gift in your Will. Writing a Will can seem daunting. But it doesn't have to be scary! Here are 6 things to consider when you write your Will:

1. What your assets are, and what you would like to happen to them.

2. What you would like to happen to your personal possessions. – They might not have monetary value but can be hugely sentimental to those you leave behind.

3. How any debts are likely to be repaid.

4. Who would you appoint to administer your instructions (your executor)? This can be a Solicitor, but it is often a trusted family member (this helps if the Will is quite straightforward.)

5. If you have young children, your Will is an opportunity to appoint guardians to care for them.

6. What you would like to happen to any pets.

People often think Wills have to be a ‘private document’. But, it can be helpful to have a conversation with your family about the contents beforehand.  If you want to write a Will you can do this for free using the GOSH Free Will service! For more information go to www.gosh.org/freewill
