Celebrating #InternationalCharityDay with Binance

Today is more than a date. It's #InternationalCharityDay, a global salute to selflessness. To celebrate, let's take a look back at the journey and achievements of Binance Charity so far.

From a revealing session at Davos to deep conversations about purpose with Changpeng Zhao, our journey began. A Meal, A Future

By simply providing lunch, we can help give children a chance at securing the education they need for a brighter future. Education can only be successful when basic physiological needs - such as having a meal available - are also addressed.

In 2019, through the #BinanceLunchforChildren initiative, we donated $642,267, nourishing 21,443 children. Every meal fuels dreams and empowers our future generations towards education. 🍽️ 🌍

Breaking barriers in Uganda.

Through #PinkCareToken, Binance distributed 1,100 Pink Care Tokens (PCAT) and delivered 1,100 packs of reusable sanitary pads to 1,100 girls at Busalamu Secondary School in Bukanga Sub-County, Luuka District, Uganda as part of our plans to alleviate period poverty. 

This initiative ensures that young women aren't held back by the lack of proper sanitary solutions, promoting equality and safeguarding their futures.

#CryptoAgainstCOVID 💪

As COVID-19 swept across the globe in 2020, we mobilised $5,627,458 through #CryptoAgainstCovid, delivering essential resources and medical aid, and intensifying worldwide relief endeavours.

It was a wonderful opportunity to bring together our donors, supporters, and the Binance community. Together, we have saved and aided in hundreds of thousands of lives and counting.

Breathing Life Back into Earth 🌎

The planet's future is in our hands. With #TreeMillions, we've planted over 295,084 trees to fight climate change and restore ecosystems.

Providing aid to Ukraine

In times of distress, we stand united. Binance has committed $10M to help the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine through our Binance Charity Foundation. The donation was split between major intergovernmental organizations and nonprofit organizations to help support displaced children and families in Ukraine and its neighbouring countries.

Binance also launched a crypto-first crowdfunding site, called the Ukraine Emergency Relief Fund to allow people to donate crypto to help provide emergency relief to refugees and children and to support logistics on the ground.

With community support, we've already raised over $1M. Let's keep the spirit alive!

Knowledge is power; access should be universal.

We recognise that digital education and skills development can be out of reach for many, resulting in a blockchain industry that is lacking in diversity and talent. The #BinanceScholar program aims to change that, covering the costs of tuition and course fees at some of the world’s leading universities, colleges, and vocational training providers.

Through this initiative, we've spent over $5,438,009, benefiting 67,535 aspiring tech leaders. Here's to dreams taking flight and those awaiting their chance to soar!

In just 3 years, we've enabled over 30 blockchain charitable projects, distributed $30M in crypto donations, and impacted over 2M beneficiaries from 85 countries.
