Case Study:Darlington Parklands Yarrabilba, Logan City, QLD
Darlington Parklands at Yarrabilba is a popular destination park in Logan City, south of Brisbane. Dubbed a ‘super park’, this multi age play and recreational precinct features a water play area with shallow pools and fountains for kids to splash and cool down. Also included is a climbing dome and multi swing, a climbing wall, a sand pit and musical wall for toddlers.roject Design Brief
The management of surface water was a key part of the design and therefore trench drains were required to drain the flat and level walking and play surfaces. Grates needed to be kid safe for feet, wheelchairs, and bicycles. The trench drain would be required to trace the boundaries in the play areas whilst stopping runoff from encroaching the main walkways. All drain components needed to be durable as they would be regularly cleaned with detergents.
