Case Study: Karrinyup Shopping Centre, Perth, WA

Built in 1973, the Karrinyup Shopping Centre recently underwent a $800M overhaul, ranking as the largest redevelopment of a shopping centre in Australia. Today it serves as a mixed retail and business precinct comprising over 300 stores and a floor plan that has doubled in size. It is one of Perth’s central destinations for fashion, dining, lifestyle and entertainment.

Project Design Brief

To improve and extend key services across the centre, new cable infrastructure was required for lighting, communications, and CCTV coverage. Several new cable pits were specified to house these services, with designers wanting covers to blend in with the surrounding floors and pavements.
