Building Better Futures: Evolving our decarbonization impact

Last year, we made strong progress in advancing sustainability and decarbonization of the built environment. We leveraged our platform to advance the conversation about hydronic systems as the future-proofed and flexible building solution, hit key milestones in training and education and highlighted the importance of community, collaboration and the customers that we serve. In other words, we created important building blocks that are paving the way for innovation and ideation to take shape in 2024 on even deeper and more holistic levels.

• Connections: The more we connect with one another and the more partnerships and industrywide collaborations in which we engage, the more impact we will have. Building Better Futures is just one such vehicle dedicated to driving the overarching sustainability and decarbonization conversation. 

• Discovery: Bell & Gossett has long been a pioneer of innovation, but in a world of emerging technologies and decarbonization standards, the journey of discovery never ceases. Our culture is one of continuously improving to meet the challenges of decarbonization head-on. Buildings and their system design represent a major sustainability opportunity, one that we aim to address with solutions like our new e-1510X Smart Pump — part of our hydrovar(R) X-enabled product line. With integrated drive technology that uses no rare earth metals in its design, the e-1510X gives a much more efficient and sustainable footprint.

• Retrofit: Retrofitting buildings represents a huge market and sustainability opportunity. As 80% of the buildings we have today will exist in 2050, it's critical that we retrofit and upgrade them with smart HVAC technologies and leverage renewable energy sources. Future-proofing our existing building stock is essential to accelerate our fight against climate change.

No one group can address the implications of climate change alone. We believe Bell & Gossett and Xylem can play an important role in fostering collaboration to drive real, meaningful change.  

Throughout this year, we will advance Building Better Futures with the support of our industry representatives and supply chain partners. 2024 will bring further thought leadership from Bell & Gossett experts, innovative new product and solution developments, and real-world examples of Bell & Gossett and Xylem’s sustainability efforts in action.
