Back to the World of Recruitment

Back to the World of Recruitment

I have always been very career driven and determined to come back after having a baby, I went on maternity at the beginning of October not knowing what to expect of motherhood. Well let me tell you it is a complete whirlwind, nothing can prepare you for it, just the same as nothing can prepare you going back to work after having nearly a whole year out of a business. Not only was I bringing up the most beautiful human in this crazy world but we had a global pandemic to deal with which heightened everything so much more. So many thoughts running through; will my job be safe, will my son be OK to be looked after by family after not seeing them for months and many more.

As the day came closer I started talking to the team a lot more and got really excited at the thought of coming back to a company that I love to work for and also love what I do. This also aligned into the ease of lockdown so we started to see family more which allowed my son to interact with everyone which also helped me worry less.

My first week back has been amazing. A lot of emotions not only leaving my son but getting back into the swing of things and understanding what has changed with the business, clients and the market over the past 11 months.

I want to prove to myself and the recruitment industry that you can be a fulltime working mum, be successful and have a work/life balance.

After this week I am excited to take the weekend and spend some quality family time and reflect to see what I can do to improve for Monday.

Stay tuned to see how my first month has been and the trials and tribulations I have had managing bringing up my son as well as starting back at work again.

Please feel free to reach out; [email protected], it will be great to hear like minded experiences and help wherever I can.
