Bloomingdale’s is in good shape, has grown since pre-COVID-19, and there’s a vigor to its selling floors that competitors lack, yet Olivier Bron sees plenty of room for improvement.

“The next chapter will be different from the past. We want to be bold and big,” said Bron, Bloomingdale’s chief executive officer. “I’m absolutely convinced that we have a fantastic platform to build the next chapter right now, because this company has been very well managed and because the foundations are very strong.”

Alessandro Michele Surprises, Unveiling First Designs for Valentino in Resort Collection

In an unexpected move, Alessandro Michele has decided to share his first designs for Valentino months before the scheduled debut collection for spring 2025. What was not unexpected was his enduring passion for fashion and enthusiasm for the brand during a one-hour long Zoom call from Rome on Sunday.

“This is a magic location, and from the very first day I felt something special had happened, there was a chemical reaction,” said Michele of his approach to the house and discovering the archives of designs by founder Valentino Garavani.

While confirming that his first fashion show for the Rome-based brand will be in Paris on Sept. 29, he said he “instinctively decided” that his women’s and men’s 2025 resort collections needed to be seen before they hit stores in October and were unveiled Monday.

Rihanna is the new face of the J’Adore blockbuster women’s fragrance from Parfums Christian Dior.

The singer, businesswoman and fashion icon in a statement described her new role as “both an honor and a mission.”

“The scent, that I have known and loved for so long, means so much to women,” she continued. “I am especially looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”
