QR CODES MEET AI 

QR codes are extremely functional — now, they can get the job done while looking aesthetically pleasing.

Earlier this month, a Reddit user posted a series of artistic QR code designs — inspired by anime and manga art — created using Stable Diffusion, an AI model. 

One user commented, "The fact that it works makes it genius. I feel like I’m looking at the start of a new generation in art, watching something new and fresh and incredible. The blending of formats, of expectations, is just amazing." 

Our take? What stands out to our team at Brij is the potential for balance of functionality and design. It's still early, but we are excited for the design possibilities offered by AI models. Check out full take on the hot trend here! 

THE "LABEL MODERNIZATION": REPLACING PHYSICAL CLOTHING TAGS 

The broader retail industry has been shifting to "2D barcodes" (aka Sunrise 2027), and the apparel industry is up next.

Clothing manufacturers have been lobbying for permission to replace physical clothing tags with QR codes. 

Citing a growing volume of product information and other downsides to the physical label, manufacturers turn to QR codes to allow for increased flexibility. 

Our take? As a rapidly evolving industry, clothing and fashion is due for a "label modernization." Brands like Ralph Lauren have already started to use digital labels, no doubt to reduce friction in both the customer and brand experience. A win-win.

IS YOUR BRAND READY FOR PRIME DAY 2023? 

Prime Day is coming. While the date is not official yet, many are speculating it will be July 11th - 12th. If the past is any indicator of the future, many brands are starting to prepare.
