3 CLASSIC ways to love health IT during #NHITweek

September 15 marks the kickoff to the ninth year of National Health IT Week where 425 partnering organizations and the healthcare community at large coordinate in-person and digital events to move the needle on health technology's use to provide, cheaper, safer and more coordinated patient care.

From trips to Washington to Twitter chats, health communities across the country will be organizing to share their unique perspectives on how information technology impacts our society. These conversations arise at a critical time as U.S. healthcare expenditures hit $3.8 trillion and physician shortages meet an increasing need for care by ailing Americans.

With the wellness of our economy and our selves at stake, we owe it to everyone to be conscientious of how we move forward. However, as important as these conversations are, there's no reason we all can't channel our collective passions and creativity to make the message meaningful.

Here are three images to inspire your unique contributions (and a possible HIT movie night?) to this upcoming week of proactive health IT discussion:

What's the value of health IT - IN YOUR EYES? (Say Anything - 1989)

Health IT moves us all in the circle of life. (Lion King - 1994)

"I may not be a smart man, but I know what love is." (Forrest Gump - 1994)
