NAVIGATING MACRO UNCERTAINTY Why now is the perfect time to innovate. “There is ‘big innovation’ such as major business model change, and ‘little innovation’, which is more focused on process and people; but either way, the best approach is often additive,” argues Faisal Hoque, an entrepreneur, bestselling author and, a contributor at the Swiss business school IMD. “Build on what you already have, leveraging new technologies and partnerships to move the organisation forward.” Some of those ideas will be customer facing, while others may be internal, with automation, for example, offering efficiency gains. But the key is to keep moving forward, argues Prof. Vijay Govindarajan (VG). “Critically evaluate all your projects and stop the ones that have little future,” he says. “Companies have a hard time stopping things, but tough economic conditions provide the justification to shut down less promising initiatives, which releases cash flows for the next strategies.” Freed from functional barriers, people are more engaged and empowered – and able to focus on challenges and opportunities that would otherwise have been beyond them. Connected organisations also find it easier to work with external partners, spreading risk and sharing ideas as they innovate. “Don’t be afraid to allow your employees to work differently,” adds Hoque. “If you let them, they will bring a fresh approach to your problems and opportunities.” READ THE FULL FINANCIAL TIMES ARTICLE FROM THE LINK IN THE COMMENT SECTION. 👇 —- #leadership #innovation #management #AI

From media rooms to investor meetings, from startup hubs to corporate boardrooms, we're all navigating intricate journeys in this ever-evolving business landscape. The standards we once considered essential, like predictability and linear growth, are being redefined. We're now in a time where rapid technological advancements and groundbreaking changes are the norm. Startups using the latest technologies, especially AI, are shifting how industries operate, often surprisingly fast. Meanwhile, the big players in tech, those we've known as market leaders, are always looking for new ways to innovate and keep their lead. From these changes, several insights emerge: - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:We must rely on more than past methods. Anticipating change and positioning strategically are now paramount. - 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞: Being a big name doesn't mean you're safe from change. In today's world, agility and adaptability often outpace size. - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: To remain relevant and ahead, adopting a continuous learning mindset and staying updated with new technologies and methodologies is essential. - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Strategic partnerships and cross-industry collaborations can pave the way for groundbreaking solutions and new avenues of growth. As we look ahead, it's clear that while the journey might not always be straightforward, it's filled with opportunities for those ready to adapt and innovate. Navigating the current environment is indeed complex and challenging, and that's why it's imperative to have organizational capabilities that support people's resiliency and leaders equipped with foresight. #growthstrategies #leadershipinsights #continuouslearning

Tomorrow, I am celebrating my 30th birthday. 🎁 I have decided that now is the perfect time to publicly reflect on the ideas and beliefs that have helped me and Neurons Lab survive and grow (at least up to this point in time 🙂). 👇 Idea #1: “The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.” F. Scott Fitzgerald. For entrepreneurs and leaders, Fitzgerald's concept of "first-rate intelligence" expands to an even larger challenge: opposites must be held not only in the mind but also in action. I saw numerous proof of that in my life: 1. Founders need to continuously hold two opposing ideas or even states: being strongly convinced they will win and being flexible enough to pivot when things go wrong. 2. Leaders need to constantly combine the apparent opposites of planning and improvisation. 3. Managers need to simultaneously develop handbooks and processes while keeping in mind that blindly following mechanistic processes will never lead to extraordinary results. The real magic happens through organic creation. One possible interpretation of this particular concept defined by Fitzgerald is to use the best and discard the worst aspects of each of the two opposites. How do I personally and my team members practice the art of holding opposites? 1. Cycles → Focus on growth for 3-4 years cycle, optimize and increase margins for 1 year cycle (2026). 2. Different teams → The whole company focuses on the core offering - AI consulting services, while a small dedicated team explores new offerings - customizable AI solutions. 3. Taking it easy 😎 → Learning to live with opposites. If you liked this post, please like and share it. But even if you didn't →, start practicing “leaving with opposites” → like it and share it 😇 Sources for further reading: On Grand Strategy by John Lewis Gaddis #entrepreneurship, #decisionmaking #uncertainty #ai
