Installing a home battery backup with a high-voltage battery not only enhances efficiency but also conserves energy. The DC bus voltage typically fluctuates between 300 volts and 500 volts, so opting for this choice lightens the workload for your inverter. Conversely, selecting a low-voltage home battery backup necessitates more effort from the inverter, as it must decrease an input voltage ranging from 300 to 500 volts to below 100 volts. This leads to decreased energy efficiency for the power needs of your home or business.

Why EV Charging from a DC Source? ⚡🔌 DC Source for EV charging offers numerous advantages: Charging Where There's No Grid or Weak Grid 🌍🔋 •Game changer for remote locations where there is no access to an AC grid •Also perfect for areas where the AC grid is weak and cannot supply enough power Scalability📈🔮 •The modular nature of DC charging infrastructure allows for easy upgrades and expansion, ensuring that the system can grow with increasing demand. Once the initial infrastructure is built, adding additional elements such as batteries, solar panels and others is relatively easy. #DCCharging #OffGridCharging #Microgrids #RenewableEnergy #EVCharging #Sustainability #Ampernext

This could be a game changer for consumers & businesses. It looks like this could be setup independent of the grid. I will definitely be watching how well this product does in testing! I can think of some applications right off the bat. 1. Charging an EV at a site under construction, like an EV pickup used for the construction or engineering teams. 2. More people are looking to get off the grid in remote areas. A solar carport would keep the EV cooler/ protected & allow for efficient charging. 3. Businesses could build out public charging in parking lots using this technology. Again a solar carport could be built for situations that are not feasible to run mains power to.

More BEVs on the road = more electricity use = lower electricity costs for all users: "While concerns are sometimes raised that EV charging will raise electric rates, three recent studies find that the load growth caused by EV charging can actually reduce electricity prices because EV charging can spread fixed electricity system costs over a larger volume of sales, modestly reducing per kilowatt-hour (kWh) rates." #StopBurningStuff https://lnkd.in/dDs8g6Pu

Following a study with Shell ubitricity, UK Power Networks have updated their guidance to allow 5kW electric vehicle (EV) chargers to be installed on older lamp posts with thinner cables. The study successfully proved that older lamp posts with thinner cabling can safely support 5kW chargers. This is great news, especially for those CPO’s such as char.gy, ubitricity, CityEV Ltd., FM Conway Ltd (SureCharge) specialising in lamp post charging solutions. The results now unlock opportunities with 133 local authorities across the UK and should support the accelerated deployment of cost effective residential on-street charge points which are part of the infrastructure mix enabling the transition to EV, especially for those drivers that don’t have access to home charging. #lamppostcharging #evcharging #netzero #electricvehicles #energy
