#mememonday heard one thing over and over again at #MBAIMB24 last week. "We are actively looking at ways to improve our customer experience." When that response was asked to the people in the room; a follow up came of "how many of you are offering a digital closing experience?". Not even half of the room raised their hands. Common objections come up of my warehouse lender doesn't take eNotes (not all digital closings have to include eNotes), my investors don't take Hybrids (you need some new investors as most do) and the title companies hate doing them (the ones that are never trained on systems do tend to put a up a struggle but most have been trained on multiple platforms). The point is, you can always make excuses for not to do something. While you do that, your fellow #mortgage lenders in your area are actively offering these experiences, saving costs per loan by doing so and recruiting more LOs that leads to more market share. The data is pretty clear on who is growing and who isn't. The ones investing in their tech, people, experience and process are growing.

You know, it's interesting (and enlightening). I had so many incredible conversations at the ICE Experience conference this week with owners, lenders, and tech segment decision makers. What do they want? They want better. Better tools, better support, better training, transparency and honesty. And they deserve it. Why is that a resounding narrative? Take my 2 cents for what it's worth, but it's because (some) tech vendors have failed to understand and deliver from the lens of their end-users (and quite frankly, don't care).
