Focus on #AI: What would it be like if software could detect defects in components automatically? Once fiction, now reality. With an app developed by ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions, defects in components can be detected and evaluated automatically with the help of AI. For example, in safety-relevant parts in the #automotive or #aerospace industries. This allows defective components to be sorted out at an early stage or reworked, reducing waste and increasing quality. #ZEISS #Digitalization #AIappreciationDay

How to evaluate quality using #AI? Very simple! We’ve recently implemented one for verification of the assembly process in our Showroom 4.0 in Balice. Thanks to 𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐒𝐎𝐅𝐓 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐋𝐚𝐛 we were able to teach the application correct behavior and recognize incorrect movements. 👉 The first step is to collect data for #MachineLearning. We used data from the industrial robot that is responsible for assembly. We can utilize this device as a sensor with plenty of online information available. 👉 The second step is to teach and configure the algorithm. Here we can try different models and optimize evaluation methods. In this case, we used Autoencoder, one of the types of #NeuralNetwork. 👉 The third step is to run the application in real-time and provide a #FeedbackLoop with a quality score. #QualityControl is one of the most popular areas to use AI in manufacturing these days. It is relatively easy to use and often results in better precision and speed than conventional methods. Even if it does not work fully autonomously, it can work as a useful recommendation system for employees to point out possible defects. #innovation #manufacturing #artificialintelligence

Enhancing Computer Vision AI with HumanintheLoop (HITL) Systems As AI and Computer Vision (CV) technologies advance, their ability to interpret and act on visual data has grown immensely. However, even the best models face challenges like edge cases, false positives, and low confidence results. For AI companies, especially those dealing with critical applications like healthcare, autonomous driving, and security, these challenges can pose significant risks. Enter Human in the Loop (HITL) systems—a solution that combines AI with human expertise to address these shortcomings. HITL platforms enable realtime human review and intervention when models encounter uncertainties or unfamiliar scenarios. This collaborative approach ensures more reliable and accurate results. DataPure - A Customizable Platform to handle low confidence results, false Positives and Edge cases. #Machinevision #ComputerVision

AI has come a long way, and things are going to get more and more interesting as we follow this AI journey. There is going to be positive disruption in most industries. Medicine, Engineering, customer service, etc AI has evolved from Artificial Narrow Intelligence (machines built for Mono-Use e.g self-driving cars) to Artificial General Intelligence (Multi-Use, e.g human-like robot, large data but not self-training), and we will soon get to Artificial Super Intelligence (self-training).

Imagine a world in which machines not only perform tasks but can also actively learn and adapt - just like humans and animals! 🤖🚀 In his article ‘A Path Towards Autonomous Machine Intelligence’, Yann LeCun 2022 shed light on how artificial intelligence could learn through observation and intrinsic motivation without relying on constant human guidance. 🔍 Learning inspired by humans and animals could be: World models through observation: machines could learn to understand the world around them through simple observation, much like a child exploring its environment and developing new skills. Hierarchical abstraction: These approaches enable machines to break down complex problems into simpler subtasks, enabling them to plan more effectively and make predictions. Intrinsic motivation: Instead of external rewards, robots and AI systems could be driven by their intrinsic goals, which they explore independently and learn from. 🌐 These developments could revolutionise how we use machines and robots and bring us one step closer to a future in which AI and humans work together in unprecedented harmony. 💭 How far along do you think machines are in this development? #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfTechnology #AutonomousMachines
