This landmark amendment remains a cornerstone of civil rights, reminding us of the ongoing journey toward equality and justice for all. In honoring this anniversary, we recognize the significant contributions of women across diverse sectors who have championed civil rights and social justice. Exciting News! Office of Illinois Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton hosted a transformative "We Chat" session at our Lake County center as part of her We Thrive initiative. Lt. Governor Stratton emphasized the importance of breaking down barriers hindering women's economic empowerment, stating, "Today's conversation exemplifies the heart of We Thrive." Those who attended explored crucial topics like financial education, childcare accessibility, and support for women business owners. The "We Chat" session also spotlighted innovative solutions such as non-traditional programming and peer-learning spaces to enhance economic opportunities for women. Insights gathered will contribute to a comprehensive report guiding policymakers in addressing systemic barriers. Riunita can assist if you are in a situation where you are looking for trustworthy financial advice, experiencing hardship, homelessness, on the verge of eviction, or feel you are struggling to make your rent or mortgage payments. The YWCA team extends beyond the walls of our offices! Our friends at Deloitte helped pack hygiene kits at Streetwise earlier this month. Deloitte employees volunteered as part of the company’s 25th Impact Day. Deloitte is purposefully committed to helping to create positive change for employees and the community.
