💡 Expert Tips on Chlorine Measurement: Understanding Free vs. Total Chlorine 👉 https://lnkd.in/gxiSUuXS Chlorine-based disinfectants provide a more potent residual effect than other disinfectants; therefore, they play a vital role in a municipality’s distribution network and remain the disinfectant of choice for drinking water plants. In this article, we explore the differences between free chlorine and total chlorine and discuss the applications in which each should be measured. Justin King #drinkingwater #chlorinemeasurement

Chlorine is a proven disinfectant, but the key to successful disinfection is dosage. Too little chlorine won’t have the disinfecting power required, and too much chlorine can cause water to taste and/or smell unappealing, or worse, have long-term negative impact. Measuring chlorine levels in drinking water before it leaves the water treatment plant (WTP) is crucial. This article explains proven and simplest practices for measuring free chlorine, combined chlorine, and total chlorine. The Wasserversorgung Ort GmbH ensures double security for drinking water treatment! The local drinking water supplier in the Bavarian pre-Alpine region obtains its water from protected springs on a nearby mountain. While the water quality meets the required standards, surface influences such as heavy rainfall can occasionally lead to contamination with turbidities or parasites. Damages to the pipeline can also pose a risk of bacterial contamination. To prevent a "worst-case" scenario involving boil water advisories, reputational damage, and costly chemical disinfection, and to increase the drinking water safety, a double barrier from Seccua was implemented: 1️⃣Our ultrafiltration system that retains bacteria or parasites and reduces turbidity 2️⃣UV disinfection system which combats and eliminates germs 👉🏼Learn more about our system here: https://lnkd.in/eVEMKycD #MannHummel #CleanerWater #DrinkingWater #Safety #FiltrationMakesTheFuture

The Daily Mail mentioned a new study on microplastics in drinking water. They speculate on potential harm and exposure to phthalates without evidence of either and fail to mention that the actual amount was just 0.000000001% by weight. Let's focus on facts and evidence over sensationalism. #microplastics #bottledwater #drinkingwater UPDATE: https://lnkd.in/g5xtM5hb

Keep your drinking water safe and clean with the HI93414 Turbidity and Chlorine Portable Meter! This meter is perfect for testing the quality of drinking water in homes, schools, restaurants, and other businesses. It is easy to use and provides accurate results in seconds. The HI93414 meter measures turbidity and chlorine, two important indicators of water quality. Turbidity is a measure of the cloudiness of water, which can be caused by suspended particles such as dirt, silt, and algae. Chlorine is a disinfectant that is added to water to kill harmful bacteria. https://lnkd.in/dVWSfJzR #TurbidityMeter #WaterQualityTesting #IndustrialProcessControl #EnvironmentalMonitoring #WaterTreatmentIndustry #AgriculturalIndustry #ResearchLaboratories #HannaInstruments #HannaIndia

WATER TREATMENT How Water Treatment Plants Make Water Safe!!! Public drinking water systems use different water treatment methods to provide safe drinking water for their communities. Public water systems often use a series of water treatment steps that include coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection etc. ▪️Coagulation and Flocculation: Chemicals are added to the water to make small particles stick together (coagulation) and form larger particles (flocculation), which can be easily removed. ▪️Sedimentation: The water is allowed to sit undisturbed, causing the larger particles to settle at the bottom of the tank, forming sediment. ▪️Filtration: The water passes through layers of sand, gravel, and charcoal to remove remaining particles, bacteria, and parasites. ▪️Disinfection: Chemicals such as chlorine or chloramine are added to kill any remaining bacteria, viruses, and parasites. ▪️pH Adjustment: The pH level of the water is adjusted to ensure it is neither too acidic nor too alkaline, which can be harmful. ▪️Fluoridation: Fluoride may be added to promote dental health. ▪️Testing: Regular testing is conducted to ensure the water meets safety standards before it is distributed to consumers. #watertreatmentplant #filtration #safewater #environment #healthy #waterislife #waterquality #filterair #drinkwater #healthylifestyle #watersoftener #sustainability

Struggling with condensation in meat processing facility? A primary cause of condensation in meat processing plants is the sanitation cycle. Pressurised hot water, vital for cleaning and disinfecting production lines, creates condensation when it encounters cooler air. This moisture often accumulates on less-frequently cleaned overhead areas, posing a risk for bacterial growth and chemical residue accumulation. Ventilation offers a cost-effective solution to this problem. Fanquip provides various options to extract humidity and maintain optimal temperatures in the facility. Check out the solutions here: https://hubs.li/Q02wD9Sl0 #fanquip #meatprocessing #humidity #condesation #ventilation #sanitation #extractionfan

Most of us are lucky enough to take clean water for granted. We simply turn on a tap and have access to a plentiful supply of safe drinking water without needing to consider the various systems and processes that remove contaminants such as bacteria, viruses and algae. These include specialist dosing pumps that inject chemicals to cause coagulation and flocculation, where solid particles gather and settle before the clear water is then filtered then treated with chlorine to eliminate any remaining bacteria. SEKO is at the heart of this process, with our cutting-edge dosing, control, measurement and analysis systems that help utilities companies worldwide to protect public health.
