We are so proud of our yoga class at The Martlets in Burgess Hill, led by experienced teacher Shyara Chessmur. This free class is open to everyone in the Burgess Hill community, and welcomes both beginners and those with more experience. Thanks to our partnership with NewRiver REIT plc, we've been able to create a friendly and inclusive space where our yoga community can build their strength, improve flexibility, and support their mental health. It's been fantastic to see our returning students continue to develop, whilst also welcoming new faces who are taking their first steps towards self-care and improved mental and physical health. Snow Drops an Image of Hope How lovey to see the Snow Drops out along Bell St in the woods. It is not a sign of Spring quite yet - too early - but still, it really brings me Hope and with this the awareness that the winter season is tough on us all. The grey, the cold, the damp weather is correlated with a sense of heaviness and dullness, as opposed to the hope and spring in your steps that you might feel on a bright day. What an experiential way to practice mindfulness as we are able to identify these sensations in turn. For me it is a sense of relief to feel that the weather affects everyone, and so, it is not just me ! 😅 There are however lots we can do to get prepared and ramp up the strategies for keeping positive in the winter months. This is empowering too because I know that I can actually do something about that. Mental Health Week is coming up soon and I always get back to the acronym GREATDREAM to promote Happiness, an acronym put forward by Action for Happiness, UK charity. It is no surprise that Positive Attitude is possibly the most important part of our reflection curriculum in our Children Yoga Teacher Training course.
