Today, the network of sustainable land management professionals, NICOLE, launches its Discussion Paper towards sustainable quality standards for #PFAS in soil and water. NICOLE’s PFAS Working Group has drafted this Discussion Paper based on its scientific knowledge and long-term experience in risk-based and sustainable industrial land management, highlighting issues in managing PFAS contamination in soil and water.
You are free to download and consider the points raised in this Discussion Paper in your own discussions.
With this paper, we invite the scientific, regulatory, and civil society communities to debate the urgent need for robust and proportionate screening levels: robust in terms of science and ambient levels, and proportionate in terms of balancing the positive and negative effects resulting from the measures needed to achieve these levels, to align more consistently with a sustainable risk-based management approach.
