Reflecting on the Last 3 Months: Wins, Losses, and Lessons Learned In the past quarter, I've experienced both successes and challenges while navigating the dynamic world of AMS & staff augmentation. Here's a brief overview: Wins: Generated over 600 real-time leads from the European market through social media outreach. Engaged with these leads via emails and calls, promoting our AMS and staff augmentation services. Secured two AMS project proposals: A major travel company with 45k users, interested in outsourcing their reports and integration project. A prominent UK-based education company, looking to outsource their data migration/conversion project. Challenges: Despite competitive pricing (1000 GBP/day for Sr. consultants & 750 GBP/day for Jr. consultants), we lost both AMS projects due to cost concerns. We offered three consultants per project, estimating a monthly billing of around 55K GBP. Received nine staff augmentation requirements from direct clients and subcontracting projects, including needs for Accounting Center experts, Adaptive Planning experts, Integration experts, and PMs. Unfortunately, we couldn't meet these demands due to a lack of available consultants. Managed to secure one company referral interested in implementing Workday, which was referred directly to Workday. Takeaway: Sales is all about understanding the client's needs and providing effective solutions. While we've faced hurdles, these experiences have highlighted areas for growth and improvement. Moving forward, our focus will be on enhancing our consultant network and refining our pricing strategies to better meet market demands. Looking forward to new opportunities and continued growth! Over the weekend, I was thinking about the value I bring as a recruiter in the #D365 space and how do I stand out from the crowd. At WeDo our approach to guiding organisations through #D365 implementations is centred on understanding the problem and providing a solution to it. Simple, right? Well, to do this, I focus on three things: 👉 Aligning with experienced Programme Managers/Directors We focus on connecting with contractors at the programme manager/director level who have successfully led ERP implementations, whether from end-to-end or recovery programmes. Having a network of top performers in this space can often feel like trying to find Wally because there’s a lot of noise at this level. 👉 Engaging with C-suite leaders We actively speak with CIOs and CFOs who have been through successful ERP implementations to gain insights from their perspective—what worked well and what didn’t. The main point of this is not just to say "well done" but to understand why they went through this process and what they actually gained from it. 👉 Building relationships with boutique SI partners We love getting to know the new players in the market. 🏅Talent can do well but Specialists always excel 🏅 Yesterday, there was a Red Bull 100m exhibition race between two incredible athletes - Armand Duplantis (pole vault) and Karsten Warholm (400m hurdles). Despite being world record holders in their own events, which involve sprinting, their times in the 100m left them several meters behind what the top sprinters would have run. It was a clear reminder that even the best in one area can’t perform at the highest level outside their field of expertise. At Oracle Contractors, we understand this well.
