#Shipping_updates Buckle Up for Rising Container Rates! #SupplyChain #ShippingIndustry #GlobalTrade Attention importers and exporters! Get ready for another wave of increasing container rates. Rates are on a steep incline, nearing highs we saw during the pandemic. Some indexes are showing jumps of over 150% compared to last year! What's causing the surge? A perfect storm of: Limited container availability: Rerouting after Red Sea issues has created a global shortage. High demand across regions: Strong economic activity is pushing shipping volumes up. Early busy season: The rush is here early, driving prices on major routes to record levels. Experts are warning of potential congestion and box shortages later this year, similar to 2021/2022. Stay ahead of the curve! #StayInformed #Logistics

Shippers should not have been "at a loss" or "surprised" about the ripple effects of the Red Sea crisis... Longer transit times, congestion at transhipment ports, lack of equipment, moving vessels from less important routes to more important ones should all have been considerered by shippers... In my opinion, the current spike in prices and delays was created by higher than expected demand in Europe, North America and Latin America. This higher demand is what must have surprised shippers and the impacts it caused in their supply chains. https://lnkd.in/dU_ngZn3

#supplychain disruption is totally normal and part of the great benefits of living in a modern world, nowadays. prices are #surging because of all the trade route disruptions which are #bottlenecking the supply; ocean carriers have been charging premium rates to shippers for #prioritization in queues. it won’t take long before things are becoming more #noticeable.
