These part-time positions are all about helping our Lodging and Food and Beverage departments wind down the season and give a warm send-off to our guests. We're looking for “helping hands” to finish the summer season strong. Arrival dates are late August/early September and departure dates are mid to late October. You will be assigned to work in either Old Faithful, Mammoth, Lake, Canyon, or Grant Village depending on where your help is needed most! Summer is coming….. I’ve spent a lot of time and energy connecting with folks who work in #manufacturing specifically those in Eastern Wisconsin. If you’ve been getting messages from me recently this post is for you. Summer is the perfect time to tell your employees you appreciate the work they do. It’s a great time to get everyone outside to breathe in some fresh air and feel some sunshine on their skin. I want to help you with that. We have: -Mobile Axe Lanes -Mobile escape room (outdoor capable) -Catering options from $14-18 delivered and setup -Bar options (to the extent my liquor license allows) We also have very competitive pricing if I do say so myself. A $50/person budget for a 100 person company could get you quite a bit. We are a small operation that’s been scrapping pretty hard to survive since we opened in Oct 2020, when Covid was at its worst. Our survival is a testament to hard work, and I learned my work ethic in Wisconsin - where we WORK. We work hard because not working hard hardly seems worth it. Your employees work hard because their is pride in a job well done. Hard work should make you tired. Hard work should make you hungry. My homemade meals for workers speak appreciation for craft. When you want to say thank you with food, drink, and fun I’ll work my hardest to make sure your folks feel it. I don’t know how not to.

A man saw a boy on the beach throwing starfish back into the ocean. When the man asked why, the boy explained that if he didn’t, they would die. The man pointed out the futility of the effort given the vast number of starfish and the miles of beach. The boy responded by throwing another starfish into the sea, saying, "I made a difference to that one." Inspired, the man joined in, and soon others did too. "Are we there yet?" Our recent trip to Pondicherry was an absolute blast! After a fun-filled day, we decided to explore the streets in search of a cozy spot for dinner. It took a bit of wandering through resorts and small shops, but we finally found the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal. As we walked back to our stay, my eldest asked the classic question: "Are we there yet?" My response: "Not yet." In many ways, this echoes our journey through life. We often know our destination but aren't sure when we'll arrive. We keep asking our leaders and peers, "Are we there yet?" Setting up SMART goals and defining clear milestones is the key. As we head into the end of the week, I always think of the many cleaners that are either finishing the week or have cleans to be performed. And like Rosie in the video, the question I ask is - are the cleaners getting treated as they should be? Yes, the impression in the video is of a gig worker, and the first impression that comes to mind is an Uber driver, or maybe a DoorDash delivery person, but what if I told you that the Fair Work Commission changes, due August 26, 2024, class cleaners as gig workers in Australia. Why? Because most cleaners are underpaid, mistreated, and incorrectly classed as contractors (over 80% percent of the cleaning industry operates like this - Sham Contracting) when they actually employees. So I ask you, if your cleaners, like Rosie are trying to earn a living, but getting to some payment that equates to $7 per hour, do you think this is fair? There is a solution - for everyone to accept that all workers deserve to be paid correctly, even if this means that the cleaning costs will go up. And just like Rosie, when she sees an opportunity to get a well paid job, where she is treated well, we get cleaners approach us. Cleaners hear from their relatives, their friends, and our current cleaners about how we treat our team, and contact us, asking how do they get a job with us. And to you, what is the outcome? A cleaner that is so appreciative to have the job, so happy to at last be paid correctly, so happy to have the training and support, they do their ultimate best to deliver to you, our clients and us, the best standard they can. So as we all end a week, I ask for some thought to be given to the Gig workers - the ones that work the hours most of us don't like to even think about working, and ask are they being treated fairly?
