🌎👇Check out these three economic takeaways from our latest report with VFS Global on the opportunities for Travel & Tourism growth in Latin America 🗺 Did you know that domestic tourism plays a vital role in Latin America? Last year domestic spending in Latin America accounted for 82.8% of internal Travel & Tourism spending, whilst spending by international travellers accounted for the remaining 17.2%. 💪 The recovery of Latin America’s Travel & Tourism sector in 2023 was stronger than the world average. 🇦🇷🇨🇷🇺🇾 In 2024, Travel & Tourism in Argentina, Costa Rica, and Uruguay is expected to complete its recovery to 2019 values of economic contribution. In 2023, the total contribution of Travel & Tourism to Latin America’s GDP stood at US$629 billion, representing 9.6% of the region’s overall economy. 📍🇲🇽 Durante su visita al Caribe mexicano, la Presidenta y CEO del WTTC, Julia Simpson sostuvo una reunión de trabajo con la Gobernadora de Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, para conversar sobre las iniciativas que seguirán posicionando al destino como un referente turístico global, al tiempo que se impulsa al desarrollo económico y al empleo local. Julia Simpson, sostuvo un encuentro con el secretario de Turismo de Quintana Roo, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, y empresarios del sector turismo de Cancún, uno de los destinos más importante de Latinoamérica. Reconoció su compromiso con la sustentabilidad del sector. Durante una conferencia de prensa en Cancún, Julia Simpson compartió que según datos de ForwardKeys, en lo que va del año, la llegada de turistas a Cancún ha crecido 9% con relación a 2023. #WTTC #Viajes #Turismo
