The number of U.S. Electric School Buses more than doubled from March 2022 to June 2023. Forty-nine states had electric school bus commitments as of June 2023. By comparison, there were nearly 450,000 school buses in the U.S. in 2023. DOE Transportation Fact of the Week. #electrification

Today marks a significant step forward for cleaner, healthier communities. The Biden-Harris Administration, through the EPA’s 2023 Clean School Bus Program rebate competition, is funding 45 clean school buses for five Rhode Island school districts. Announced in Jackson, Mississippi, by EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan, NAACP President Derrick Johnson, and U.S. Representative Bennie Thompson, this initiative supports the transition to zero-emission vehicles, reduces pollution, and promotes American manufacturing.
