While Brussels has a reputation as one of the most diverse cities in the world, diversity is lacking in the Belgian media and communications industry. Enter #WelcomeTalent, a WPP-led campaign that seeks out creative talent in Brussels and reaches people who may not have considered a career in the industry. The programme - which included recruiting Belgian hairdressers as HR ambassadors - welcomed 35 students as part of an early career mentorship programme with WPP, its agencies and its partners. Hear more from the students below 👇 And read more about the creative campaign here 👉 https://ow.ly/hpRL50SiGm4

I GET IT – BEING A GOOD EMPLOYER OF YOUNG PEOPLE ISN’T EASY, WHATEVER THE SIZE OF YOUR ORGANISATION Which is why the Good Fair Employers Club now offers *two* services – one for big firms who are leading the way, and one for slightly smaller teams, who are keen to catch up fast! ⭐ OPTION 1: Main Membership Work in an early talent team for a big UK employer that hires young people at scale? Keen to step up as leaders in your field and always know what’s on the horizon, so you’re never caught out? Join early talent professionals from Santander UK, Clifford Chance, GSK, Google, Accenture, Vodafone, Greene King, NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme (GMTS), BT Group, Sanofi and Royal Mail for monthly virtual meet-ups, on a hot topic proposed by our members. Sometimes we invite a guest expert, other times it’s just us. No suppliers making a sales pitch - just 60 minutes of top-quality chat with other brilliant employers. Plus! Twice a year we meet in person, for lunch at a lovely London venue, with facilitated conversations throughout the day. Reports and videos capturing the content from all these discussions are available for members to download on-demand. ⭐ OPTION 2: The Catch-Up Kit *NEW FOR 2024!* Work for a slightly smaller firm that’s committed to rapid improvement on early talent (including DEI) – but not there yet? Created in response to demand, and already proving popular, our new Catch-Up Kit is the fast-track you need. You’ll gain access to all the reports and videos from the discussions we run with our members, who have generously agreed to share them. Why? Because we’ve all decided that - given the challenges facing young people today - these conversations are far too important to be kept behind closed doors. And there is so much that smaller teams can learn from what the bigger ones are up to - yes, even if your budget is a fraction of the size! In addition, I’m on-hand for reassurance and queries whenever you need me, and you'll have access to The Lounge, our members' LinkedIn group. AND ONE LAST THING… A huge *thank you* to all the brilliant, thoughtful, clever early careers professionals working in the UK today. Did you know that, globally, we are leading on most of this stuff? I am so proud to play my part in providing services that allow you to share insights and solve problems together. Onwards and upwards! 😎 🙌 PS. Want to hear more? Drop me a line on here and let's take it from there... #EarlyTalent #DEI #recruitment #graduate #apprentice #leadership

Skilled worker shortages and a shortage of employees pose growing challenges for many companies in Germany in their daily operations. This issue was also at the center of one of my projects when a company faced the challenge of recrui-ng enough apprentices within five months. In response, I developed a tailored HR marketing plan that proved to be highly successful. My action package included: • Researching event formats: Identifying free events and paid fairs in the vicinity. • Fair participations: Booking fair booths and strategically organizing speed-da-ng spaces. • Internal formats: Introducing new initiatives such as apprentice consultations and trial days. • Marketing materials: Planning and producing accompanying brochures, roll-ups, and banners. Simultaneously, schools near the company's location were researched, specifically addressed, and provided with informative material. To present the company in a more human light, employee profiles were carefully compiled and published – both internally and externally for marketing purposes. The results speak for themselves: Two months before the start of the appren-ceship program, all positions were successfully filled. With sensitivity, a coordinated mix of tools, and the necessary perseverance, staffing shortages in the training sector were closed in a relatively short time. Considering the strategic importance of Human Resources, companies are willing to support the necessary investments in personnel recruitment. What are your activities to attract new personnel? #HRMarketing #TalentAcquisition #SuccessStory

As Shrek sagely said to Donkey - 'Onions have layers, Ogres have layers. You get it?!' Well, Reward has many layers and this week's Project Fair Masterclass led by International Reward expert Saranga Sri-Nammuni talked us through how to create a Fair Reward Structure starting with Employee Value Proposition, Reward Philosophy and asking us to consider whether it is possible to have a one size fits all approach for multiple global sites. We discussed job and pay structure with challenges of roles which have global remits. For many Reward experts, this is all in a day's work but for some HR generalists or people new to the Reward profession within our membership, it was great to tune into how organisation culture and organogram hierarchies can play their part in shaping overall Reward decisions as well as understanding the steps around job leveling, grading and different forms of job evaluation. Saranga describes Reward as a creative science - we think that describes it very well! If you would like to join Project Fair Membership and you work for an INGO in an HR or Reward capacity, please contact us over LI or visit our website https://lnkd.in/eKf4k8qW Our full programme of 23/24 events can be found under the Get Involved tab on our website!

Head of Emerging Talent at Skanska. Passionate about inspiring and developing the next generation of talent.
I had the pleasure of attending this year's 'What do Graduates want' survey results event, superbly organised and hosted by the fantastic team at #BrightNetwork. All the insights into GenZ's mindsets plus the great student panel discussions were relevant and pivotal in continuing to shape our future talent attraction, recruitment and development solutions. Here are my key takeaways ⬇️ ❤️GenZ want to experience our work culture, not just read about it. 📌 71% have a location preference for their first graduate role. 46% want to work in London. 🌍Black heritage students are using GenAI more than white students. GenAI can be a great tool for neurodiverse students, helping level the playing field when it comes to application processes. ⁉️Companies can be sometimes viewed as 'all about D&I' only to then make the recruitment process fairly inaccessible. It’s also not always immediately obvious what exactly is meant by 'resilience' and 'passion for business.' 🪜Only 15% of those on graduate programmes said they'd definitely stay. Employers should make it clear what progression will look like. 🏢The majority of young people want to work 3 to 5 days from the office/site to learn from others, build professional networks and socialise. They are not expecting to make the rules, however, they strongly prefer jobs that offer some form of flexibility. #ResearchBreakfast2024 #BrightNetworkResearch #emergingtalent
And we're live at launch of our annual ‘What do graduates want?’ research... Incredible to be on stage in front of ~300 early career specialists from our leading employer partners who have all come together at the Pan Pacific Hotel in London today to hear the results of our research on 14,000 students and graduates. #ResearchBreakfast2024 #EarlyCareers #Skills #GraduateRecruitment #BrightNetworkResearch
