🎬 I think it's great that film festivals are increasingly incorporating online screenings and extended virtual events into their annual programs, thereby expanding their reach and attracting more audiences across regions. 🌎 Accessibility is essential for any event organizer to keep in mind, but data also shows that younger audiences are finding their way to film festivals less and less. Online screenings and playlists are definitely one effective way to attract youth. 📲 Check out this fantastic online film festival happening right now. Architecture & Design Film Festival ADFF: ONLINE, https://lnkd.in/graMHTA7 🍿 Additionally, there's a blog post on Votemo's website about marketing strategies and useful tips for online festivals or for organizers of online industry events and conferences. I hope this will be of help when planning your next festival: https://lnkd.in/gtn2gUNy Please don't hesitate to share your thoughts in the comments section or contact me directly if you’d like to explore collaboration options. #OnlineFestival #OnlineScreening #VirtualEvent #FilmFestival #IndustryEvent #FilmMarket #MarketingStrategy #Conference

Governments of all stripes in Canada have systematically disinvested in arts and culture for over 30 years. This, despite the overwhelming cross-party support amongst voters for sustained investment in the arts. It's time to think differently. Governments are facing extraordinary challenges; in nearly all cases, the arts are part of the solutions they seek. Let's work together differently, and towards a new deal for arts and culture in Canada.
"“We’re looking for sustainability, because we are an economy – we bring in tourism to the city, we bring artists together,” says Naomi Johnson, Executive Director of ImagineNative Film Festival. “People and governments need to think about arts organizations like investments. What kind of city do you want to bring visitors to? What kind of city do you want to live in?” Thank you to Naomi Johnson and Deanna Wong for sharing the challenges at your festivals and for advocating for support for the arts more broadly. https://lnkd.in/g9bubx3r

When a simple idea becomes beautiful
Big idea: capturing the emotion at the heart of BBC Two. Celebrating the ideas and people I worked with. Next up: the launch of the new identity for BBC Two, created by Stuart Radford, Suzanne Neal, Katherina Tudball, Erik Brattested, Jim Prior, Andi Davids and John Shaw. The radically diverse, and radically different identity system puts contrasting emotions at the heart of the experience. Infinite in mood and expression, and every bit as unpredictable as the cutting-edge content on either side of the iconic curve. Created in collaboration with BBC Creative and some of the best British and global animators and artists, including FutureDeluxe, Aardman, Conlan Normington, The Mill, David McLeod and Ari Weinkle, who had full license to express the idea of the brand in their own unique interpretation. Music by Alex Baranowski. Winner of numerous creative industry awards, including D&AD Yellow Pencil, Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, The One Club for Creativity and New York Festivals. #bigidea #bbc #creativity https://lnkd.in/eDtnX4Pd

What a great experience and powerful show. Completely endorse this recommendation!
Hypnotic, powerful, beautifully written - JOYCE GREENAWAY #Whiskeywars is a brilliant one-woman show Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society. Treachery, resilience in the face of endless adversity, family dilemmas - all against a backdrop of wanting to craft a perfect whisk(e)y in a man’s world. All of it resonating so much with me and the group of female leaders I invited along. This show deserves a full house every night – like a rare dram, inhale every drop and savour it. So compelling is Joyce’s performance that when she takes a bow and unveils a little of the process behind the scenes, it was like waking from a dream – I really felt I was listening to her very own life story. #TweedTheMedia Joyce McMillan Screen Scotland BBC Scotland Annabel Meikle Ailsa Cook Anna White Caroline BriggsCaroline Stretton Catherine Bell Genevieve Patenaude, PhD (Oxon) Jenny Dickson Josie Saunders Sally Beattie Sarah Morton Shona McCarthy Yvette Hopkins Westaly DuignanTracey McNellan Lisa Thomson (she/her) Anne Harrison Gary Weston Paul Pinson Laura Gordon Graeme Thompson Gavin Bryce https://lnkd.in/dyxHhTjU

' Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is still the only truly global celebration of the absolute best work that our industry is capable of, and in my view it’s a must-attend for everybody. I coach and advise a number of leaders of small to midsize agencies and holding companies, and for their business development and agency growth goals, I always recommend attending Cannes, even (and especially) if they’ve never been. It’s the one week of the year where you can find pretty much everybody in our industry and everybody on the client side all in the one place, so for biz-dev goals, it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. Plus, you don’t have to rent a beach to get noticed. Demonstrate precisely what Cannes celebrates -- extremely ingenious strategy highly creative execution -- and you can impose yourself on the landscape of Cannes to generate buzz, chatter and media coverage to further those goals.'
