Experienced Talent Acquisition Leader / Founding Recruiter / Head of Talent Acquisition For Start Ups
Raleigh Durham Startup Week 2024 is fire. Day 2, sat in a panel discussion led by 🐧 Scot Wingo, Chris Chuang, and Drew Schiller discussing the famous Peter Drucker quote that says that "culture eats strategy for breakfast". Which implies that the culture of your company always determines success regardless of how effective your strategy may be. emphasizes the importance of company culture over pure strategy. It means that a brilliant strategic plan can fall flat if the company culture doesn't support it. Great insights and its great to see these founders/CEO be a champion for their culture and principles. Here's why this is crucial for growing companies: People Make Strategies Work: A well-defined strategy is essential, but it's the people who execute it. If the company culture isn't engaged, enthusiastic, or aligned with the strategy, employees might not put in their best effort. Culture Drives Behavior: Company culture shapes how employees behave. A culture that values innovation and risk-taking will be more suited to implementing a growth strategy than a risk-averse one. Attracting Talent: A strong company culture attracts and retains top talent. As a growing company, you'll need the best people on board, and a positive culture is a major draw. In short, a strong culture is the fertile ground where strategies flourish. It empowers employees, fosters innovation, and attracts the right talent – all key ingredients for a growing company. #rdsw2024 #yalltech

Forbes ranks us 7th among 200 🏆 Of Canada’s top Startup Employers for 2024. These are our three secret ingredients: First: Our cherished employees. 🙌 Our employees are the main reason we are where we are. If we look at this company as a ship where each member must row to move forward, our crew has made this ship move forward without ceasing. Working cohesively and helping each other has made our core solidify, making the company deliver what is worked on at the core. Second: People’s raw talent. 💡 Our people have innate talent. We let our people focus on what they are good at to bring out the best in each one. By giving them the freedom to grow in what they like, it makes them realize what they are capable of themselves. This makes us have the most talented team since each can unleash their potential. Third: Safe Den. 🛡️ Our workplace is everyone’s safe den. The environment we promote is one where people feel invited to share their ideas. Because we know that two brains think better than one, now imagine many minds contributing, creating, and innovating. This is also possible because of the friendships formed within the ship, which makes ideas forge and come to light. Huge Thank You, to the Vffice family: who have made this possible through their hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm. We do not doubt that this is just the beginning of something great. 🚀 Find the Full Article on Our Profile! #forbes2024 #beststartupemployers #innovation #employeexperience #vfficesuccess #forbes

Giving the right equity to employees is a must in startups ... There are several things we can learn from the US startup scene. One of them is how to deal with employee stock option programs (ESOP). Not only is it harder to set up ESOPs in Europe, and we usually have to make them "virtual" stock options, but European founders also tend to reward fewer employees with fewer shares. US startups tend to reward more employees and even increase the pool size in later rounds. But in the end, equity is our superpower for employee ownership. Combined with a great vision, it can retain and attract the best talent. The power of stock options: 👉 Recruitment They help us attract the best minds, even on a start-up budget. 👉 Retention: Stock options keep our team engaged for the long term. 👉 Motivation: Ownership fuels ambition and pushes our team to excel. 👉 Alignment: Every option unites us for our long-term success. Let's give our people a fair stake in the business. #StartupGrowth #TeamMotivation.
