In order to make the hotel industry appealing to future generations, we must continually seek out learning opportunities that educate our people for life and not just for the job at hand. This includes involving team members in the back of house areas who may not always be visible, but whose contributions are just as valuable. Given the opportunity, every person has the ability to make a difference, and we should invite them to be part of any important conversations and brainstorming for innovation. You will see an explosion of creativity and renewed interest in the work. The people closest to the work often have the answers to daily challenges and see new opportunities, and they should lead the dialogue. As a former dish person, I can attest to this. #employeedevelopment

I love this “learning opportunities that educate our people for life and not just for the job at hand” When I step in to work with teams in the hotels and restaurants I engage, my first goal is to understand where people are at and what their dreams and aspirations are for the environments they work in before I even start training. As a trainer we should be equipping people for not only their current roles but to grow into the future. Take a look at this great insight below. #makingmagichappen

Co-Chief Operating Officer & Chief People Officer. Optical Women’s Association: Leadership Scholarship recipient Spirited Coach, Curious Learner, Cultural Storyteller
Living the #GoldStandard 👑is a mentality towards business that is reinforced in our ClearVision Optical philosophy. Hearing it for the first time in an earlier work life, it was captivating to understand the extent of #personalization and dedicated #Service delivery offered by the The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. Learning more through the years has only increased the intrigue and enticement😎. Anticipating the customer’s every need in a proactive manner is part of their secret recipe👩🏼🍳. Going to unusual lengths to be always one step ahead and to extend extraordinarily 😊experiences is precisely what they are known for. Before #hyperpersonalization was a catch-phrase they understood deeply that if they could glean insight into preferences and behaviors then they could truly make lasting #memories and create lifelong loyalty😁. Introducing this concept to our #interns and emerging #leaders through the years in varied book clubs📚 with David Friedfeld has been a true joy. Sharing their story and countless examples where guests were amazed 🤩 by acts of genuine #hospitality excellence. In every encounter there is a huge WOW factor🌟! Years ago, at #VisionExpo, the #Eyecare 👓industry was exposed to the Ritz Carlton Way when courses were offered through continuing education. Captivated, we frequently reference at CVO that if the Ritz is willing to wait 8 months to find just the right pastry chef🧁, surely we can patiently scout until we identify just the right #optical #SalesConsultant🤓. Delightfully, we (Barbara Lax, peter friedfeld, Liz Friedfeld, David and I) will be visiting the Ritz in Naples🏝️ this week for the #ExecutiveSummit2024 with The Vision Council. We can’t wait to meet new friends, gain insight from awesome workshops, and deepen our Ritz appreciation💫. #BestCompany #SmallGiants #GoldStandardMindset #ServiceExcellence #CustomerFirstApproach #LeadershipInspiration #LuxuryHospitality #VisionaryLeadership #OpticalLeadership #CustomerAnticipation #MemorableExperiences #HospitalityExcellence #WowEncounters #RitzCarltonWay #OpticalExcellence

This water bottle at the provision shop is worth 100 Naira. The same bottle at a hotel is 200 Naira, at the airport its 300 Naira and at some hotel 🏨 is 1,000 Naira Only Same bottle, same brand; the only thing that changes is the place. Each place gives a different value to the same item. When you feel worthless, change places, don't stay there. Have the courage to change your circle of influence and go to a place that sees your value. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO APPRECIATE YOUR WORTH. #environment #change #influence

Grow Where You're Planted. In the ever-evolving landscape of hospitality, the true essence of growth often lies not in the destinations we seek but in the soil where we stand. As a hospitality expert, I've witnessed firsthand how the industry thrives on resilience, adaptability, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Whether you're greeting guests at the front desk or crafting unforgettable experiences behind the scenes, every role in hospitality is a seedbed of potential. The secret? Embrace where you are, nurture your skills, and be ready to bloom in ways you never imagined. Remember, the most vibrant flowers often blossom in the most unexpected places. Let's cultivate a mindset of growth, no matter where we're planted. Because in hospitality, every challenge is an opportunity, and every day is a chance to exceed expectations. #HospitalityLeaders #GrowthMindset #HospitalityEducation #BeTheBloom
