Beginning in January 2025, Netflix will be the exclusive new home of “Raw” in the US, Canada, UK and Latin America! https://lnkd.in/er6VTxBU
Woah! That's big news! I remember only a few years ago we launched #RAW on #TVAsports and I had to hold on to this bad boy in my office.
What's happening with Smackdown?
TERRIBLE DECISION!!! JUST BE ON TV. REGULAR TV!!!! IF ITS NOT BROKE DONT FIX IT. JUST STAY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE. THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH REGULAR TV!!!!!!
The partnership is great, but I don’t understand why it isn’t just streamed on Peacock given that current relationship with the WWE Network.
I feel that the overall viewership within the US will drop for Raw unless they aren’t concerned about the live at home numbers anymore. The older generation that doesn’t use streaming services to watch WWE will miss out and may not want to pay for Netflix because of a fixed income. Bad move on WWE’s part
Netflix being a player in this bidding war for one of the most viewed weekly episodic tv shows on earth. Will absolutely amplify the WWEs already growing international reach. Being the second most popular sport in the second largest market on Earth( India) and hosting PLEs in Berlin, Lyon-Décines, and Perth. (Possibility of Netflix hosting international PLES.) great job TKO & WWE. Proud to see something I grew up with continue to push boundaries and evolve itself.
This is historic -- a significant passing of the torch from legacy media to the next generation.
Fantastic news! I also strongly believe there is a business case for them relaunching WCW Monday Nitro as a separate entity under TKO. Retelling that story to a new generation. Nitro’s peak from 96-98 of shows on beaches and nightclubs as well as the SARSA storytelling method, is what took the industry to the mainstream. There’s a place for Nitro in todays’s entertainment landscape.
