A meaningful discussion on ending violence against children in Kenya 🇰🇪 🌟 On Wednesday, 17th July, we hosted a breakfast meeting to discuss policy solutions for ending violence against children in Kenya. Our team, led by National Director Gilbert Kamanga, Programmes Effectiveness Director Fredrick Kasiku, and Child Protection, Participation & Safeguarding Manager Alex Macharia, was joined by high-level government officials, including Principal Secretaries Hon. Aurelia Rono (Parliamentary Affairs) and Hon. Joseph Motari (Social Protection & Senior Citizens Affairs). Representatives from various civil society organizations also participated in the productive discussion. We reviewed the journey so far in protecting children, the implementation and progress of the National Prevention Response Plan, and Kenya's role as a Pathfinding country in the global effort to end violence against children. 🤝 Together, we committed to take action to end violence against children and create a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive. At World Vision Kenya, Child Protection and Safeguarding are at the heart of our operations, and we stand on the firm belief that every boy and girl deserves a childhood free from violence and exploitation - one in which they’re nurtured and encouraged to become the unique person God has created them to be. #ChildProtection #EndViolenceAgainstChildren #ChildrensRights

World Vision Kenya I love the unity and zeal. Touching a child life and changing his/her environment is the key to change her tomorrow mentally and spirituality. Serving humanity is serving God. As it is said" if you want to destroy a forest, cut the seedlings" Let's look forward to love every child individually. It starts from the heart and ends physical in action. Waiting to crossover and join you in this value addition war.

Which ACTIONS did you agree to taking? Concrete, ground based actions. Exactly WHAT did you decide to DO? And from previous meetings, which ACTIONS had you then decided actively to DO, at ground level, and where, where and where? It is extremely good to have good intentions, and it is good to express these, because, thoughts become things. However, to remain in #GenZ language (I have met with quite a few in the most recent weeks) - where is the action? Which money have you received in local and international support, and where has those money gone to? Where did you have your good BREAKFAST meeting? What was the COST of that meeting? The language you speak and write, occur to me, to be the language of the upper class, those 3% of the Kenyan population who have no problems of any financial kind, except which private school to choose for the kids? Violence against kids is almost absent in the affluent leavy suburbs. I would propose empowering the poorer people, and that THEY are the main speakers at your events, and that THEY receive the vast major part of any financial support your otherwise great organisation receives, for THEIR initiatives, locally, in Kibera, Mathare, Syokimau, and other similar areas in other cities.

Child protection at every level; individual, family, community and state level should be enhanced. No child should be left behind
