Yeah! Today, the official website of the Traveling Kunz Travel Vlog went online! To kick things off, I wrote a blog about why this website came into existence. I also want to highlight the incredibly complex procedure in an unnecessary lengthy post that you are going to read anyway. A special thanks to these legends who helped build this incredible piece: The first thing you will see is the artwork by our designer, Ferdinand Kunz, which I would simply describe as “Candy Crush on acid.” While the colors break with tradition, it is great to see that the branding of the videos and the website align so well. A great effort with so many amazing visuals. The man of the hour is, of course, our web designer, Ferdinand Kunz, who managed to build a lightweight website that carries all the content about Kinmen, Traveling in Taiwan, and travel vlogging. All in a smooth UX even though we went for a budget hosting provider. Absolute quality work! Then, someone had to write all that content. This role was mastered by Ferdinand Kunz, our Head of Content, who crafted more than 20 pages of plain text and will continue to feed the Traveling Kunz blog. We wanted to have a modern website, and for that, you need privacy and cookie policies. Embedded YouTube videos are a “Cookie Bazooka” that needs to be handled with the utmost care. Ferdinand Kunz, in his role as Digital Marketing Manager, managed to set up compliance rules and funnels for each visitor to make sure they find the piece of information they are looking for. Of course, he also managed to get GA up and running. Thanks to Ferdinand Kunz, the host and moderator of the channel, who really has nothing else to do besides standing in front of the camera. They’re not relatable enough and they don’t reflect a real traveler’s experience. 😔 You’re not selling postcards. You’re selling experiences. Travel copy suffers from the same problem. It’s informative and descriptive about the location – where you can visit, what you can see, what you can do – but it lacks warmth and truth. ❌ Travelers are continually seeking out authentic travel content from people who have actually been there; emotion-invoking stories that delve into their experiences; their interactions with local culture and local people; the taste of the local cuisine; and painting a picture of memories that last a lifetime. 🌍👨👩👧👦🍜 Traditional travel content falls short in capturing all these sentiments.
