Who do you believe about the ongoing UK DB pensions debacle at bp ? The Company is carefully managing and manipulating the messaging about this whole ordeal. They would have you believe that the BP Pensioner Group is just a small number of activists with an axe to grind. The reality is that many BP pensioners spent our entire careers absolutely believing in this company and trusting that they would always Do the Right Thing when the time came - that time is now. The current leadership is betraying and is rapidly losing the trust from its once loyal employees, now pensioners - and in doing so is blatantly brushing aside the Code of Conduct. If the Company can break promises to us now who else might they be willing to break promises to in the future? Be Careful, Be Very Careful. Another great step for our Moray West with the arrival of the first batch of the tall transition pieces (TPs) at the Port of Nigg! All 62 TPs will be marshalled at the Port of Nigg in the coming months, according to the rolling programme of delivery and installation of all transition pieces onto the monopile foundations. Remember that the monopiles are currently being marshalled and installed offshore from the Port of Cromarty Firth! Together with our national supplier Global Energy Group, we were able to ensure the safe unloading of TPs for pre-installation checks, demonstrating the power of our local supply chain. Rosebank is an oil and gas field which lies about 80 miles north-west of Shetland and is one of the largest undeveloped discoveries in UK waters (contains up to 300 million barrels of oil). Currently the longest duration BESS system in Ireland💡⚡️🔋 Let’s hope we can move past the current ‘hurry up and wait’ situation we are in. Developers need to see new routes to market to incentivise longer-duration storage as well as changes to the market systems to fully allow traders to optimise asset capability.
