https://lnkd.in/e_PkVHPC I like this post about how the food and packaging manufacturing industry has changed since the global pandemic. During the height of the global pandemic, there was a rush to automate in every industry. With every sector dealing with labour shortages, supply chain issues and production delays, robot automation solutions moved from a “nice to have someday” to “how fast can we implement it”. After all, robots don’t get sick, don’t take vacations, can run 24/7/365 and don’t take personal days. Consumer purchasing changed during the pandemic, and the online shopping trend has continued even after store reopening. Do you think North America is outpacing other places at adopting Automation?

Check out this article about when will the global population start to shrink? Everyone alive today has only ever lived in a world with a growing population. At the uppermost band, births still outnumber deaths in the year 2100. At the lowermost band, population decline could start closer to 2060. But population decline is not a phenomenon the world economy is currently built for. It disrupts labour markets, strains social security systems, and threatens economic growth by reducing consumer demand. This can lead to a cycle of stagnation and increased debt. What does everyone think?

Interesting, this graphic shows that the world’s top three largest stock markets by share of global market cap (%) are UK, USA, and Germany, in that order. This was back in 1900. Overall, European countries accounted for over 67% of global market cap in 1900. The London Stock Exchange (LSE) is one of the world’s oldest and was founded in 1801. Now, in 2024, it’s USA (of course), Japan, and UK, with USA leading by 60.5% per share of global market cap, then Japan at 6%. Wow, how much the world’s economy and stock market has changed.

https://lnkd.in/eiFKBFx6 Millennials, often referred as a “broke generation”, are known to struggle in today’s economy, particularly in the housing market and saving for retirement. However, data shows that the wealth of Americans under 40 years old has hit historic highs after the COVID-19 pandemic. Yes, the pandemic left millennials’s pockets shaky, but data here indicates that younger Americans have reaped the most benefits from the strong economic recovery after the pandemic, enjoying low unemployment rates and rapid wage growth. Do you think the younger generations are struggling, or actually thriving?

Here's a post to keep things green. Let's look at Carbon Pricing. Carbon pricing is an environmental strategy aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions by assigning a monetary cost to carbon emissions. Today, only 1% of global emissions are priced high enough to meet the Paris Agreement’s temperature target in 2024. In the U.S. and Canada, the average price is slightly lower at $48 per ton, with initiatives like Canada's federal carbon pricing and the United States's Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative to keep the pricing in balance.
