Time to get back into gear🏎🙌 While a few colleagues are still enjoying a well-deserved summer break, most of Team Copenhagen is back in the office this week. Thank you to our colleagues who held the fort in July so the rest of us could recharge the batteries.🙏 Recharged or not - we might need a bit of extra coffee to get through the post-holiday inbox, but if you have any questions or queries about Copenhagen, we're here and more than happy to answer them. 📧☎ We hope you've all had (or are having) a great time off, and we can't wait to catch up with industry friends and colleagues on the other side.☀ See you out there! #copenhagen #eventprofs #meetingprofs

Let’s talk about offsites. It boils down to this: Offsites are a powerful reminder of the incredible benefits of being a fully remote team and why occasional face-to-face meets are priceless. Here’s what stood out: 👉🏾 Real connections: Sharing coffee*, working sessions and those serendipitous in person moments that are better than any call! 👉🏾 Focus: The Vienna meet gave us a perfect backdrop to plan with clarity, absent normal day-to-day activities. 👉🏾 Inspiration: The city's rich history and vibrant culture sparked creativity, reminding us of the power of new experiences. *I still don’t drink tea or coffee, so replace coffee with sharing water, juice or incredibly sweet cocktails. 😉🍹 As we dive back into remote work, we're not just carrying forward tasks, but a deeper understanding of each other and our shared goals. Why do you value offsites? 📍Drop your thoughts in the comments. With Alex Bielski Pano Evangeliou, M.Sc. Last week was quieter online, but incredibly busy away from the keyboard! 💻 One thing I noticed: we all need to go outside more often to stay connected with reality. 🌍 Here are three experiences that made this clear to me: 🚚 Moving to Hamburg: Working with Junker Umzüge (highly recommended) was eye-opening. The two gentlemen who moved my belongings work 5 days a week in moving and often 2 additional days in restaurants to support their families. While we discuss 4-day work weeks here on LinkedIn, their reality is quite different. 🚗 Driving through the country side: I had to drive through several villages on my way to one of my dream engagements (more on that later, spoiler in the picture). Passing through these villages I noticed how political slogans differ from those in big cities. Unfortunately, the only parties addressing everyday struggles for 60-80% of people were all from the right wing side of the spectrum. Others had lofty marketing messages unrelated to daily life of most people. 🏢 Workshop with VBKI: During a workshop with the Verein Berliner Kaufleute und Industrieller (VBKI) on the future of work and living, we concluded that we need more tradespeople and factory workers—those who get things done. These individuals need affordable housing, not co-working spaces. With these insights, one of my goals for the rest of the year is to step outside my typical bubble more often. Whether through creative workshops with VBKI, mentoring with Netzwerk Chancen, or connecting with diverse minds like Johannes Bube who always brings together great minds from diverse backgrounds. What's your approach to gathering perspectives outside your typical bubble? 🌟 If you're in Hamburg, let's connect! Or, if you know anyone in Hamburg I should meet, please put me in touch. I'm eager to meet fantastic people! 🌟 #Networking #Hamburg #Community #RealLifeConnections #WorkLifeBalance #FutureOfWork #Mentorship #DiversePerspectives #GetOutside #AffordableHousing

💫 Do your best work, from where you work best! 💫 Do you think there's a link between where we work and how happy and productive, we are? 📊✅ Yes, there is! It's like a hidden connection. It's key for boosting productivity and making us happier with our work. 😊 Crazy, right? Every morning, when you pass by your favorite café on your way to work and you want to go in, but you can't. What if you could though? Right there, would you relax, sip on your latte, and type away on your laptop? ☕ 💻 Or imagine it's one of those cold, dark winter mornings when it's too freezing to even step outside your door! ❄️ ☔ Does that sound familiar? Imagine being able to choose the perfect spot for getting stuff done. Wrapping off a very intense week in which I dedicated lots of heart & soul in team work! 1️⃣ Monday I had the pleasure of joining an interesting event at Likeminded's offices listening to Kimberly Breuer and having a fruitful discussion with some members of HR Collective Berlin on wellbeing in the workplace and HR's role in it. 2️⃣ My team had our team event on day 2 of our Team Days in Berlin. It was lovely to see everyone in person and just spent some fun time together aside work bonding on a personal level. 3️⃣ Monday to Wednesday we had our People & Culture Team Days in which we focused on team collaboration, people experience and AI for HR. Nothing's as fruitful as dedicating collective brain power to new topics that will move the needle for our organization. 4️⃣ Thursday I had my very first speaking gig on "How to build confident teams and achieve big" talking about the importance of the combination of the why, how and what as well as psychological safety. Got a lot of very positive feedback which made it an awesome experience. Thanks for hosting the event INSRD! Even though I put A LOT of positive vibes and energy out of the events this week - I won't lie it also took a lot of my energy and social battery. So before you help other's make sure you're safe and so I'm really looking forward to the weekend and working from sunny Spain next week. #growthmindset #team #psychologicalsafety

People & Projekt Management, Agile Methoden, Mediation 🔝 Wenn es stürmisch wird, halte ich Teams und Organisation auf Kurs.
As I get a lot of questions about team events, I’d like to share our last #HRteam event, which you might find inspiring. Last week, our HR team from KLU embarked on an adventure and tried out the Escape Room #Skurillum on the Reeperbahn. I booked “Malvinis Vermächtnis” and we solved the puzzle together in 56 minutes. 💪 Here are our experiences: #Collaboration & #Communication 🤝 The imaginative environment and unfamiliar tasks required close collaboration and careful listening. Everyone contributed their ideas, which strengthened our team cohesion. We discovered strengths in each other that we hadn’t previously noticed. #Creativity 💡 The challenging puzzles pushed us to think creatively. This experience brought us new approaches that we might also use in our daily work. #Motivation 🚀 and #Trust Successfully finding the Book of Immortality showed us that, as a team, we can overcome any challenge together (Ok, a little help from outside might be needed, too) #StressRelief 🌿 The change from our daily routine helped us reduce stress and recharge our energy. We had a lot of fun! Imaginative Story and Atmosphere 🎨 The lovingly decorated room and the lighting effects immersed us deeply in the game’s world. The interactive elements made the event truly special. #Conclusion: The team event at Escape Room Skurillum was a valuable experience that might have improved our communication, creativity, and collaboration. Fore sure it changed perspectives and ideas. What kind of team events did you find most effektive? Cooking? Geo Caching? Dialogue in the darkness / silence?

I am the person that, two years ago, found her LinkedIn floded with likes and the kindest messages from people I had never connected with before who were reacting to a picture I had posted of a very humble table and a chair. They were the table and the chair that my grandmom had prepared for me so that I could go to her house to spend time with her during Christmas and still work. She had bought an internet connection and everything. Saturday, my grandmother turned 96, and the week before that I was working from that table, from that wooden chair, next to her. Only she and me. Silence except for when someone called me from work or Grandmom spoke to tell me one of her stories. Today here I come back with a new table and a new chair? I am in the middle of a hotel lobby in Amsterdam waiting until they give me my room. I have searched, and they had no place where I could sit and work at the same time so...I made my own. I grabbed the coffee table next to the couch and sat next to the wall where the only plug was available. Lots of noise, people checking out, and others trying to check-in. This is my new table and chair until 3 today. A completely different place. A very different setting from the one I had just 4 days ago. And still, this is my life, and my work, and I love it (Although I would change everything in a minute to go back with Grandmon and my wood chair if you can understand what I mean 💕 ) I love that my work gives me the possibility to work from many different places apart from my house. Remote working has changed my life. What about you? How do you feel about being able to work from different places? Is this something your company allows you to do? By the way, for those of you who want to know what I am doing in Amsterdam 👀 , hold tight! A new Vistatec event is happening. And this time, we are doing it together with Phrase! I will post more about it tomorrow. #remoteworking #thinkglobal #UnLOCked

We love and live a remote culture - but team events remain key 🔑 In the last months, our team has grown rapidly and last week we finally brought everyone to Düsseldorf for two half days team event. We are a remote-first company with fantastic talents working from Germany, Austria, Italy and the Netherlands. Most of us met for the first time in person, but when we all came together, it felt like a family reunion. The agenda was packed with strategic planning, retro and refinement but also active sessions like bouldering 🧗, spontaneous guitar concert 🎸and constant supply of good food 🍕🍝 All of us contributed in creating our strategy by understanding and defining our objectives and key results (#OKR). We also wanted to get to know each other on a different level, therefore our retrospective focussed on personal reflection. Our colleague Mariem Gandouz, MSc summarized it perfectly: “I’ve been to many corporate team events but this was the first where I didn’t feel bored for a single second”. Kudos goes to Hye-Jin Park who is our master of ceremony for trainings, workshops and all things related to the happiness of our team. Our secret recipe: Team events need the right dose of work and fun. At the end, it’s all about the people and creating the environment where they can be open and feel appreciated. Therefore, it is essential to prepare event like this properly. Create goals to foster the focus on the topics and measurables/deliverables to achieve the goals. Keep the time and serve the fundamental needs of human beings (food, drinks, breaks). What’s next? After team event is before team event – if you have any recommendations on formats or locations of team events, please share in the comments. #BehindTheScenes #Teambuilding #StartupCulture #Transparency

Working with Nick Misani on the deco of Swan's new headquarters was so fun. We had a tornado of ideas related to our business, our tech, and even inside jokes, and he helped many of them come to life. I especially love the code on our meeting room doors. Swan's meeting rooms are quite typically named after European countries. That alone is not unique — but we took it further! We wanted to give a feeling of our tech culture and give a fun nod to the "localization" that is so important to what makes Swan different. Bear with me while I talk about banking features :) Swan allows companies to offer banking features to their customers, embedded into their own product: accounts with IBANs, cards with their own logo. And it's all localized: A Spanish company wants to offer Spanish accounts, with IBANs that start with "ES", with Spanish T&Cs, following Spanish laws. Every time we launch an office in a new country, we build up localized accounts for that country, with local IBANs. 📍 No, it's not so easy that a developer can just say "Let's add new letters!" 🤡 Swan goes through a long process to get local accounts and local IBANs set up in each country. So far, we already have IBANs starting with DE, ES, FR, NL, and IT is next. My IBAN is: FR76 3000.... haha JK. I'm not giving that to you — fraudsters! So, anyway, When a developer is building banking features into an app, they connect to our API. And there is specific code that allows to create local IBANs. We put that code across our meeting room doors. The "Italian" room has the code for creating a local Italian IBAN starting with "IT," etc. That's just one of the details we put into the office, but there are many more, all over the place. Thanks Deskeo!
Swan's European team 🇪🇺 200 strong, represents 20 nationalities spread out across offices in Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, and beyond. For our Paris headquarters, we chose a local team to design the space. 📍 This office enjoys monthly visits from Swanees across Europe thanks to our Visiting Swanees Program 🚄 which allows teammates to spend time working out of any of our hubs. We love how much personalization we were invited to put into the new space — you can really feel the Swan spirit! ❤️ Thank you Deskeo for your work and continued support.

Can coffee breaks be mandatory? Should coffee breaks be mandatory? Interesting article on the importance of interacting with colleagues and the impact on #companyculture. Many recent studies suggest workers do not want "forced" office time, but the benefits of really understanding your team (at all levels) are real. I'm interested in comments from the LinkedIn community (maybe a discussion over a group coffee?) Thoughts? https://lnkd.in/giziGw9y

Month 1/12 - done. ✅ January felt like such a short month this year! We were just chatting about this with one of our clients this morning - it seems like, for some, it's been the longest month ever, and for others, it went by in the blink of an eye. Personally I can't believe it's February already. 😱 Last month was a good one for Cathcart Technology Finland. We had a record number of conversations with potential new clients, and I feel like we've gained a huge amount of market knowledge by networking with people. Everyone seems to agree that the market is tough right now, but it's great to see that there are still many companies out there that are able to continue growing. Results wise, Tuuli had an amazing month! She was an absolute superstar and did such a great job for her clients. 💎 Me and Heini concentrated on sales and relationship building, and Katriina was busy on the candidate front. I also took full advantage of our 4.5-day working week by doing a quick weekend trip to Northern Ireland and spending most of my free time horse-ing around at the stables. A shorter working week makes such a huge difference to my well-being, especially in January when evenings are still so dark. Overall, I think it was a great month, and I think February will be just as good! 🤗 How has 2024 treated you so far? #recruitmentconsultant #recruiting #wellbeingatwork
