Today is International Women’s Day, and the campaign theme for 2024 is 'Inspire Inclusion'. At RISSB, we believe in supporting gender inclusion and diversity. Today, we celebrate the women who are already making a difference in the industry, and also recognise the importance of greater participation and advancement of women in rail. Women represent an increasing part of the rail industry’s workforce, but there is still an opportunity to achieve greater gender diversity across the industry. Last year, the Australasian Railway Association (ARA) released the ‘Women in Rail Strategic Plan 2023 – 2026’. The strategy aims to create a more sustainable, thriving rail workforce by empowering women at every level of industry. This strategy is a great initiative that is working towards increasing female participation in rail to help ensure the industry’s long-term sustainability. You can find out more about the strategy here - https://rb.gy/tz9m3u Collectively, we can forge a more inclusive rail industry for women across Australia and New Zealand. #inspireinclusion

This year's Women's Day highlights 'Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,' a focus on economic empowerment from the UN. 'Inspire Inclusion', the campaign's concept, supports the creation of environments where each voice is respected. The theme "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress" emphasises how important women are to creating a healthy society. At the same time, 'Inspire Inclusion' honours diversity and works to guarantee that nobody is left behind. On this Women's Day, let us respond to the demand for economic empowerment of women, building a future in which inclusion and equality are not just concepts but actualities for everyone. #happywomensday #2024

Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we proudly recognise the incredible contributions of women in the engineering industry and railway sector. Their innovation, expertise, and dedication shape our world; we're privileged to celebrate their achievements. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is unwavering at PWI. We work hand in hand with our ED&I Committee to support and promote an environment that fosters equality and values unique perspectives. While we take this moment to honour the outstanding work of women, we understand the importance of making this commitment year-round. It's not just about today; it's about continually challenging unconscious bias, breaking stereotypes, and promoting inclusivity in everything we do. Let's unite to create a workplace and an industry where every woman's voice is heard, every talent is recognised, and every person is empowered. Together, we forge a path towards lasting equality and inclusivity. #internationalwomensday #InspireInclusion #EqualityInEngineering #CelebrateWomenInSTEM #DiversityAndInclusion

Today the world celebrates International Women's Day and the theme this year is to 'Inspire Inclusion'. It would be the hopes of the organisers that everyone around the world today takes some time to reflect on the inequalities that still exist, but also the progress that we have made. In the construction industry, whilst there has been a large effort in the last few years, women are still not having their voices heard in the cacophony of male voices. Within the industry the struggle for respect and to be heard is real. Whilst we celebrate today women across the world, lets encourage our businesses, that we work so hard for, to commmit themselves to creating a more equitable future for all, and supporting everyone equally across the business. As women in the construction industry lets challenge those around us to let go of outdated norms, empower women to thrive and provide everyone with equal pay and opportunities. Thanks Lauren Lebedevas for being part of my support network to make this happen in our little corner of the industry! Happy International Women's Day #IWD2024 #BreakTheBias #ConstructionEquality #Internationalwomensday
