Debra Lane, Ed.D. and I have co-authored an article titled "Fixing Workplaces, Not Women," recently published in AAIE InterEd Journal Fall 2023.
💡In a world where workplace initiatives often focus on fixing women, assuming they are the issue rather than the systems that under-promote them, our article delves into the critical need for a paradigm shift. The evidence speaks volumes – women ask for pay raises as often as men but are less likely to receive them. Could the problem lie within a system that fails to account for gender bias?
🛑 The seemingly insurmountable barriers faced by women have led to a mass exodus from companies (McKinsey, 2022). Our partners, daughters, granddaughters, nieces, and students are demanding action NOW!
🌐 It's time to review policies and practices within schools, organizations, and corporations. Let's create more equitable workplaces by prioritizing transparency, metrics, safety, and policies. It's time to revolutionize structures that oppress women and other minority groups. Now is the moment to womanize the leadership landscape!
🗣️Join us in this crucial call to action! Review your workplace policies, challenge existing norms, and champion equity. Together, we can reimagine possibilities and pave the way for safe, productive, and equitable spaces for ALL.
