Another ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership Annual Conference in the books and there were several highlights for me including: 🔊 listening to Amanda Gorman ("use the smallest feather as the heaviest hammer" really resonated) 🎸 the Classic at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame hanging with Jason Wilcock, Sophie Morris, and Craig Moss 🕺 our first Association Latinos event at Annual with great food and of course dancing 🎢 an emotional rollercoaster with J. Mark Wallach, MBA and his The ALS Association CEO "Ice Bucket" Challenge (shout out to Sharon Pare - great idea)... To name a few of the memorable moments. With all of that, my conversation takeaway, which connects to the event's "In Unity We Thrive" theme, was how to build unity through community and what does community mean? Community needs engagement, however, professional engagement needs to be fostered by individual opportunities to engage directly with other like-minded people. An area where attendees showed an interest in Aevus' product, Communit-Us, was the ability to engage directly through our Chat or Schedule Meeting functionality in our interactive Member Directory. While we have Forum functionality that allows volunteers, committee leaders, and staff to engage publicly and manage communities, the "Aha" moment was the organic, private engagement that Communit-Us offered. I'm always fascinated by how simple life can be when we break it down to the basic units of need - Community is a big lift, however, focusing on individual engagement and how to provide those opportunities for 1-on-1 dialogue and finding ways to support organic relationships in communities is how we unite people. Thank you ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE, and all of the folks I met this year for expanding my horizon, engaging, and making this another great memory in my #association career. #ASAELA2025

At first glance, brand safety in a world of disinformation seems like a no-brainer. However, relying on broad-stroke block lists often stifles some of the online environments that have the most credible content from trusted sources, robust reader engagement and highly educated readers that brands most want and need to reach. As Luis Romero, SVP and head of North American sales at the Guardian U.S., notes in the article, "Brands the world over are committed to messaging that illustrates their support for DEI and the environment, and issues such as gun control and reproductive freedom," He goes on to say, "And yet, brand safety protocols and block lists are business as usual for many of those brands — eliminating the very media organizations who are 'doing the work' to combat racial inequity, LGBTQ rights, [and] the climate crisis." #dei #diversityandinclusion #adsales #advertising #advertisingagency #digitaladvertising #digitalamarketing #digitalbranding #programmaticadvertising #videoadvertising #adblockers #adblocker #brandbuilding #brandsafety

The Events Business Coach helping Eventrepreneurs to Build 7-Figure, Industry-Leading Businesses | Scale Your Revenue, Visibility & Freedom | Trusted by 1000 Event Profs Worldwide | Cohost of Like an #EventBoss Podcast
IDK about you, but I’d much rather celebrate the eventrepreneurial mama that gets to show her baby what’s possible, or the events ceo getting 8 hours sleep a night, or the team leader that allows their team to work flexibly to allow for school pick ups..🤍 Just because the old paradigm of success for women in events was hustling your way to the top, competition over collaboration and sacrificing it all for a seat at the table in a male dominated leadership.. ..doesn’t mean we have to subscribe to the old way and normalise the hustle. And for the women who are fiercely ambitious in achieving their growth and goals in events.. but not at the cost of their dream LIFE.. there’s a table you need a seat at, and it’s the Inner Circle Mastermind for female founders in events 🫶 This is a very intimate close proximity group of female leaders with 10 years in events scaling into a new level of leadership - think queen energy - supporting each other to win, not following industry trends but setting them, masterminding together It has been closed to new applicants but I am opening up two spaces beginning July for 6 months. If you feel you’re a good fit and craving a high level space like this to truly skyrocket your business, your manifestations, your life on all levels - whilst being deeply seen and held to show up as your full self through it all, DM to apply 💛 #eventprofs #womeninevents #eventsmastermind

What are the BROKEN rungs? And how are they slowing women’s climb to leadership positions within the construction industry? The BROKEN RUNGS are the old, tired, worn-out ways of doing things. The “because we’ve always done it this way” rungs. In a legacy industry such as construction, there are many old ideas, methods, and traditions that we continue to hold on to. But in this post, I want to focus on the ones that are inadvertently providing more networking, mentoring, and sponsorship opportunities for our male peers. These are the ACTIVITIES that get planned for networking and/or team building. These are the Golf Outings, the Clay Shoots, the Hunting and Fishing trips, etc. Are there women that enjoy these activities? YES! But is it the majority? NO. Are women intentionally being excluded from these events…yes AND no. In my career, there were two times in particular that I was TOLD I was not invited. Both were overnight trips. One time I was told I was UNinvited because management was afraid of what the wives of the men attending would think. One time I was told that I wasn’t invited because I would not want to be a part of the things that traditionally happen on that trip. BOTH times, the groups that my companies were hosting were MY CLIENTS. Has YOUR company intentionally excluded women without realizing the impact? There are other times when women are not intentionally excluded, but instead choose to exclude themselves due to lack of interest. EVERY activity that your organization offers will have people that lack interest in the type of event and therefore will choose not to attend. The question to ask yourself is… Do we have a VARIETY of events that allow every person the SAME AMOUNT OF OPPORTUNITIES to create the organic mentorship, sponsorship, and team building connections that these events offer? And “same amount of opportunities” means that the SAME KEY PERSONNEL attend the variety of events to ensure that there is an opportunity for all employees, regardless of event, to have an opportunity to connect with key leaders in the organization so that EACH person has an equal opportunity to create mentoring and sponsorship opportunities that are vital to anyone wanting to climb the ladder to leadership. Ally Jencson talks about another aspect of the Broken Rungs on her episode of The WIC Week Audio Summit. Women's leadership development, advocate community builder / Strategic Marketing Consultant / Facilitator
MEET THE AMBITIOUS WOMEN OF FRANK // GABRIELLE LAMIRANDE-GAUVIN Hello! I'm Gabrielle Lamirande-Gauvin, and I am the Global Marketing Manager for Infrastructure at Hatch, a global engineering and consulting firm. I always had an interest in science but switched to marketing over 22 years ago. I came back to it full circle now working for more than 12 years in an engineering firm. I love helping my colleagues and friends communicate their innovative ideas and approaches and highlighting how our work benefits the community and creates positive change. I enjoy working with colleagues from around the world, learning about our differences and what we have in common. I like mentoring and coaching young women who want to advance their careers in marketing. In my free time, I am an avid art enthusiast and can often be found attending concerts, dance shows, music festivals, or art exhibitions. WORDS TO LIVE BY // A quote that I like and have repeated many times is from Madonna: "A lot of people are afraid to say what they want. That's why they don't get what they want." It may be a simple quote, but I love it because I have seen how often people (mostly women but not only) hold back from expressing their desires, expectations or achievements. I understand that it's not easy for everyone and situations may vary, but I have learned that just asking, owning your voice, can create many possibilities or influence change. It means overseeing your change, and not acting as a bystander of your own life. FRANK EXPERIENCE // Frank has been a great experience for me. I have learned to be more intentional in my goals and improved my coaching skills as part of this group. Apex is my second cohort and I value the community of women who have some common interests but also diverse backgrounds and personalities. I learn a lot from their perspectives, stories and strategies. It's nice to discuss the challenges we face and how to achieve our goals and dreams in a supportive environment with like-minded women in leadership positions. JOIN FRANK // frank is a leadership community that transforms the way women lead. DM for more info and to join our waitlist for the next cohort. #womeninbusiness #womensleadership #franktalk #womensupportingwomen

The CEO Whisperer 💎 Founder & CEO VORNICA® and THE CEO ELEVATION CIRCLE 💎 Turning European Women into Outstanding Global Leaders 💎 Executive 1-1 and Team Coaching, Mentoring, and Storytelling for CEOs💎
Be water, my friend... I was reminded recently of this superb quote when attending Tom Ross's phenomenal community building course Build a Thriving Online Community. In this course we discussed the issue of community culture. And this made me think. First, I want to go back to a previous post here on LinkedIn, in which I was talking about the difference between groups, associations, and communities - mainly for us, women leaders. Groups are not bad, but they are loose. Usually brought together by physical proximity, the holders of space hope that bringing people together will be enough; the "human juice" will take care of itself. Nothing could be more wrong. I remember Giampietro Pastorelli, one of the most impressive civil servants I have ever met. When he was in Prague, he stewarded the Italian Vision Club. I have never seen so much effort put into bringing us together, introducing us to each other, making us feel welcome at the table... Gianni was leveraging physical proximity to build a community, not just a group. Another thing are associations. Industry chambers, trade chambers, interest-focused associations... They are a bit wider than groups; they may even include an element of remote and distributed leadership. BUT - what many associations do is providing the rocks - an event here and there, and not much in-between. Of course, it's flavorsome to attend events, take pictures, and share them on LinkedIn... But our mindset transforms in-between moments. Like Cillian Murrphy said about his character, Oppenheimer, this is like dancing between the rain drops... this is where the magic happens. In-between. This is why communities are like water. Because the water includes and connects the rocks, but it also follows its own journey, connecting everyone and everything. The only caveat: you need to be a real source to bring out water, again and again and again, from the deep wells of your mind, heart, emotions, sometimes tired body, yet always caring soul. So, be water, my friend. In our community THE CEO ELEVATION CIRCLE, the water is called loving growth. These two words embody our culture; this is what we strive for; this is how we grow together; this is how we thrive together. Loving growth. Be water, my friend 😀 #womeninleadership #womencommunity #thrivingtogether Check us out and join our community of practice in leadership development and career acceleration for women leaders here: https://lnkd.in/dB5NDmQQ Renata Mrazova Katarína Navrátilová Lavinia Yosub Hana Pullova ZEYNEP YALIM UZUN Yvona Tošnerová FCCA Miroslava Stodolicova, MBA Vanda Vicente Pavla Eaton Emel Idriz Saule Mergenova Lucie Rodriguez Barquet Outi Teräs 🤗
