The soft life trend promotes a lifestyle that prioritizes comfort, relaxation, and personal well-being over the traditional markers of success such as long hours, relentless work ethic, and material accumulation. It emphasizes creating healthy boundaries, focusing on mental and physical health, and seeking fulfillment in personal life rather than solely through professional achievements. This movement challenges the hustle culture that many millennials and Gen Z individuals grew up with. Instead of glorifying the grind, the soft life encourages balance, peace, and intentional living. https://lnkd.in/gb9_gfbU

🌟Midlife is not a Crisis Its a Calling Says Chip Cloney.🌟 Exploring Midlife and Beyond: A Journey of Reflection and Growth Ever paused to ponder why midlife triggers introspection? Research indicates a dip in satisfaction around ages 45 to 50, marking a pivotal moment for many. In our earlier years, we're often caught in a relentless pursuit of success, seldom questioning if it truly aligns with our path. Welcome to the "midlife unraveling" - a phase where expectations crumble, and dreams may seem out of reach. Disappointment arises when expectations exceed reality, urging us to evolve our outlook and focus on what truly matters. But what exactly is midlife, and how do we navigate its complexities? Lasting from around 35 to 75, midlife is a marathon in today's world. With longer lifespans, there's ample time for growth and reinvention. So, how do we prepare for the second half of life? It begins with self-reflection. What do you wish you had known or done ten years ago? This introspection fosters a seize-the-day mindset, guiding us to curate a life aligned with our purpose and values. And for those beyond midlife, the advice remains pertinent, if not more so. Investing in social wellness becomes paramount, as studies highlight the significance of strong relationships for happiness. Shifting our mindset about aging is crucial. Instead of fixating on the physical, let's focus on how aging feels. Surrounding ourselves with a supportive peer group can help navigate the changes that come with aging, fostering comfort and acceptance. Finally, how do we embrace our wisdom in midlife and beyond? It starts with reflecting on our experiences and distilling key lessons. Organizations like the Modern Elder Academy are dedicated to helping individuals transform life experiences into shareable wisdom. Let's embark on this journey of self-discovery and growth, embracing the wisdom gained along the way. Remember, wisdom is a social good, meant to be shared and celebrated. Join the conversation below and share your insights on navigating midlife and beyond. Together, let's empower each other to live fulfilling and purposeful lives. Thanks for tuning in! I love the articles from The Greater Good Science Center. This one discusses the concept of "time smart," which is the idea that people can find greater well-being and happiness by prioritizing their time over money. The article is based on the work of researcher Ashley W. from the Harvard Business School and her book "Time Smart." Here are four key points to take away from the article: ✅ Time Over Money: The traditional saying "Time is money" suggests that being idle wastes time and is less productive. However, making more money and overvaluing our time can negatively affect our well-being. ✅ Being Time Smart: this means not overscheduling, avoiding activities that consume time without providing happiness or meaning, and making decisions while considering the value of time. ✅ Happiness and Relationships: Research indicates that people who value their time are happier, more satisfied with their jobs, and have better social connections and relationships. They also tend to engage in prosocial activities like helping others or contributing to the environment. ✅ Hacks for Finding More Time: practical tips for feeling like you have more time, such as disconnecting from technology during enjoyable activities, savoring experiences, and seeking awe-inducing moments. ✅ Life Decisions: relocations can help us spend more time in meaningful activities rather than transportation. In conclusion, understanding the value of time and making conscious choices can lead us to live a happier and more fulfilling life. #TimeSmart #Happiness #QualityOfLife #MindfulLiving #TimeMatters #Inspiration #behavioraleconomics

Echocardiographer | CRE Investor | Husband | Father | I help medical professionals build their wealth through passive real estate investments
Creating a "balanced" life is BS and here's why: I often hear about people striving for balance in their lives. I'm here to tell you that it's a pipe dream, and the faster we can realize that the better. If I had this so-called balanced life, I would: --> Sleep 8 hours every night. --> Work exactly 40 hours each week. --> Have the same routines during business hours. Is that your experience? I didn't think so. Mine either. And I am completely at peace with that. Here's the thing... We have to find INTENTIONAL IMBALANCE in our lives. There are different "seasons" depending on where we are at in life. Here are some examples: 1️⃣ Early 20's: --> Undergrad life --> Drinking too much --> Playing music religiously 2️⃣ Late 20's/Early 30's: --> Met my wife --> Found healthcare --> Bought our first home 3️⃣ Late 30's (almost 40 😢): --> Found real estate --> Focused on wealth creation --> Bringing children into the mix The biggest shift for me has been not comparing my journey to anyone else's. The truth... I still struggle with that from time to time. I'm human. It's ok. But what's more important is to find enjoyment in whatever season you currently reside in. Intentional imbalance today means there are days where I'm: 👉 Up at 5AM going to the gym. 👉 Still up at 11PM finishing up work. 👉 Barely spending any time with the fam. Is that a tough pill to swallow. You bet. But I am in preparation for the next season of my life, which will look very different. ✅ No bosses. ✅ Focused on traveling. ✅ My assets do the hard work. I've let go of trying to find balance in my life. I'm all in on finding intentional imbalance and being ok with that. #intentionality #financialfreedom #passiveincome #assetprotection https://lnkd.in/gnwr6EkW

2wI can't love this more! In my 'old fashioned' era, there was so many roles that were deeply entrenched in work place toxicity- it made things unbearable with zero recourse. At least having the discussion opens up the resonance to a healthy environment in regards to social connections, physical space and the sense of belonging.
