A new Illinois Music Venues Act, HB 1557 requires music venues across Illinois to maintain a supply of Naloxone and ensure that staff are trained to administer it effectively. ⏲️ We measured the waiting time between conventional toilets and female urinals. Women spend around 3 min in the toilet (compared to less than 2 min for men). We timed the average time taken by women to use the madamePee over several festivals, venues and races. On average, the time taken to use a madamePee is 45 seconds. For comparison, we simultaneously measured the queue at a busy music festival (35,000 festival-goers). 🔴 Queue A (portable toilets): 10 people in front of the witness, average waiting time: 19 min 36s 🟡 Queue B (madamePee urinals): 10 people in front of the witness, average waiting time: 3 min 10s. This time difference can be explained by 3 factors: 1️⃣ madamePee is just for peeing, so the average time of use is lower. 2️⃣ The urinal is optimized for speed, so there's no need to clean the bowl or find it difficult to position. 3️⃣ The arrangement of toilet spaces, and therefore the construction of the queue, also comes into play. On madamePee's side, a dedicated team to optimize the waiting flow and cabin occupancy.

Since 1987 we we have undertaken thousands of noise surveys from background noise levels through to music festivals. Its always good to get the opportunity to measure something a little bit different and recently we undertook some noise measurements of Helicopters to inform the noise assessment and control measures for a Helipad within the grounds of one of our clients homes. When assessing noise on the sensitive receivers it is crucial to understand the operational noise level of the proposed noise source. This typically involves multiple measurements at varying distances, locations and operating conditions of the source in question. Utilising this data we can accurately model the noise impact, and provide appropriate mitigation to ensure our advice is accurate and most importantly the noise impact at the residences are suitably controlled Hopefully next time we will get a ride in the Helicopter! #noisecontrol #acousticdesign #soundadvice #acousticconsultants
